A to Z Rugs and Carpets was established in 1984 and named after the initials of Ali, the owner, and his wife Zohreh. Ali came to America to study at the University of the District of Columbia, graduating with honors in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Ali continued his education and completed his master's degree from George Washington University.
During his last year at the University he became home sick for his country, Iran. With over centuries long of family involvement in trading antique rugs he decided to practice outside his degrees and start his own business. Ali began to practice the art of repairing Persian carpets; recognizing the need to repair and restore the artisan work of the past.
Doing so brought him solace and inspired him to share his merchandise with other carpet and art lovers in his community. Ali is most proud and recognized for his historical masterpieces and remarkable collection of 1000 Persian and Oriental rugs located in the center of his shop and draped on the store walls.

For projects with big design ambitions or large floor surfaces, a wall-to-wall carpet can be the ideal choice. When the surface appears as one large pattern without physical joins and breaks in the design, a very special look is achieved with the carpet as the fundamental element connecting the room's interior design elements.
Hardwood floors offer the warmth, beauty, and value of wood, which never goes out of style. High quality hardwood floors that are kiln-dried, manufactured, installed, and finished to certain standards can last for generations. Able to stand up to active workspaces and heavy foot traffic, quality hardwood floors are tough, hard-wearing, and have long term durability.
We offer you an array of ceramic and porcelain tile choices that can help you create a sense of sleek sophistication. Tile is natural, beautiful, versatile, durable and easy to clean-and is offered in countless colors and designs. No matter the type of tile you are looking for, hand painted tile, large format squares, unique colors, styles or finishes.
Vinyl flooring is durable and stands up well to heavy foot traffic. It is comfortable under foot and reduces noise, which can be important for owners with kids or pets. It is also less expensive than many other flooring options and is easy to install and maintain. We often get the question, "Are vinyl and linoleum the same thing?"
Have you always wanted that natural, beautiful glow of hardwood flooring but couldn't justify the cost? We offer a full line of colorful, quality laminate flooring that not only matches hardwood color and stone tile color for color and grain for grain but will also save you money! Our laminate flooring is durable, affordable, and indistinguishable from actual hardwood or stone tile, whichever you prefer!

I recently had my bedrooms recarpeted and they turned out great, even better than expected! The prices were competitive, they were knowledgeable and they were very easy to work with and caring. The customer service was excellent, the owner is very nice, something you don’t see much anymore. It was refreshing to work with such a nice company.

I do not do reviews. However, in this instance, had to. The service and pricing are Steller. The quality of installation, excellent. Go ahead; shop around. You will come back. You do not find this quality of service and customer satisfaction from a big box store. Real old fashion customer service lives here. I truly enjoyed the experience.

We agreed to one price over the phone. Then they did the work. AFTER THE JOB WAS COMPLETED, they said I owed them 50% MORE than the agreed upon price. RED FLAG! Their explanation was that the person who quoted me the price basically didn't have the authority to do so. The way I see it, that SHOULD NOT BE MY PROBLEM! However, it became my problem.
They recommend that everyone (even for small jobs) should literally drive all the way to their store just to sign a piece of paper. I said, "That makes perfect sense...since obviously your customers can't trust what YOU say over the phone."
