Advanced Preferred Chimney Cleaning started in 1997 with Steve and Gail Crankshaw in Murrieta, California. As time went on and the aging chimneys started needing more repair work, Advanced Chimney Cleaning, Inc. was born. Being second generation sweeps, Eric and Shelby Crankshaw take pride in knowing the surrounding community, their chimneys and dryer vents are cleaner than ever before.
A smoking chimney may be caused by several issues besides a dirty flue. An inspection and education from one of our chimney technicians typically finds a solution. According to the National Fire Protection Association Standard 211, all chimneys and fireplaces should be inspected at least once a year to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Having your chimney swept and inspected anunually improves the air quality in your home and also prevents potential hazards such as chimney in-structure fires, creosote build-up, smoke and /or carbon monoxide, cracks and obstructions. Neglecting care of a chimney can restrict the flow of gas, causing smoke to reenter the home or even cause a fire.
Do you have water leaking in your chimney? Water is one of the fireplace's worst enemies because most chimneys are made from brick which is a porous material held together with mortar which is water soluble. The inside of your chimney is also likely made of metal which is susceptible to rust. We have a gas fireplace and it hadn't worked for a little over a year. We would turn on the switch and the flames would turn on for a few seconds and then they would go off. Advanced Chimney did a very thorough inspection, including cleaning everything as well. Plus he gave us very detailed information about what was done, both verbally and with a report sent to our emails. Our fireplace was working again after this inspection. This was a couple weeks ago. Today I smelled gas near the fireplace and thought maybe there was a gas leak. He came out again very quickly today and did another very thorough

Excellent customer service, from the get-go! Shelby was up-front when I called to make an appointment, explaining they were booked for about 3-4 weeks. Eric and Steve were running a few minutes late, but I received a call from Shelby in advance of the appointment time. Both guys were friendly, professional and very experienced. In addition to cleaning the stove/flue, they use a camera to inspect the pipe all the way to the chimney cap, looking for any installation errors or signs of aging. I would definitely recommend Advanced Chimney Cleaning!

This company is hands down the BEST! Eric came to our home to look at our gas fireplace that hasn’t been working for over a year! Ran a full diagnostic and even showed us how to/where to buy a new part to install to save us some cash from him coming out again. What a guy! His wife is also super sweet and full of information over the phone when scheduling. Highly highly recommend.
