Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps has been a premier chimney and restoration company in Minnesota since 2013. We have performed thousands of safety and maintenance inspections to ensure functional and up-to-code chimneys and fireplaces. We are family-owned and operated, and offer the most economical prices. We strive to help homeowners maintain functional chimneys and fireplaces by offering chimney cleaning and repair services.
Our Level 2 Inspection involves a full service, no dust-no mess guaranteed cleaning followed by an inspection. Our sweep runs a camera through the wood-burning fireplace and up into the chimney to check the damper, smoke chamber, and flue liner system. Our sweep then does an exterior chimney stack inspection to look at the flashing, brick work, and crown.
A: The National Fire Protection Association says, Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary. Even if you don't use your chimney often, an annual inspection is a good idea to check for other types of chimney deterioration and possible debris or animal nests inside the chimney.

BEWARE !!!
Blue Sky came to our home for a cleaning of our chimney. While here, they also did a photo inspection.
They sent back photos of a chimney in dire need of multiple, major repairs. The estimated cost of these repairs were close to $10,000. They stated that our chimney was in "fire code violation" .... and "if we wanted to use our fireplace this Winter, the repairs would need to be completed first." Images sent a few days later, via email, showed numerous cracks inside the chimney walls plus issues with the exterior chimney cap.
We decided to get another company's opinion, at our expense

We've used Blue Sky for a crown replacement, chimney and fireplace cleaning and most recently a flue replacement. They've always been on time, very professional and friendly, honest and forthright about what needed to be done and why, and the most competitively priced (by far). They were very easy to work with and stood by their work. When our flue needed replaced they did the work right away and worked to get it done the week of Christmas anticipating we'd want to use our fireplace. If you have a fireplace in your home, do yourself a favor and call Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps! During an inspection and cleaning, they found evidence of fire damage and helped walk us through the insurance claim process. We were able to have our flue liner replaced and exterior chimney rebuilt with little more out of pocket than our insurance deductible. The technician who inspected our fireplace was professional and willing to answer all our questions. The owner of Blue Sky was great to work with and handled all of the insurance claim requirements. The crew that completed the work was outstanding

Blue Sky worked on our behalf to get a chimney fire covered by insurance after another contractor had totally failed to even try. They did great work. The owner got half our repairs covered by insurance and Blue Sky did top notch work. The crew was friendly, clean and made sure we new each day what had been completed and would be completed the next day. Can't say enough good things about Blue Sky, they will be our Chimney Sweeps going forward.
