A standard cleaning includes a complete visual inspection and thorough removal of the flaky creosote deposits from the fireplace system (the chimney flue, smoke chamber and firebox). Smoke problems occur for a variety of reasons. In some cases the fireplace has a poor draw, in other situations smoke travels to other parts of the house through gaps in the liner.

This company was used by my apartment complex to come clean my chimney. I contacted the office on January 15th, they showed the last week of January to clean. I was informed that this company was going to have to make an insert to fix the fireplace which would take 3 weeks.
They came to "fix" it today. There was no insert, they used some concrete mix to patch the damage. Hell, I could have done that. Since it was such a safety issue I was told not to have a fire. Well 3 weeks later they did not fix it like they said th hey would. This review will be continued.
March 2nd. Continuation. So far

Great small local company. Answered phone right away. They had great availability for an estimate. Gave recommendations on how to solve the draft problem we where having. Price was very reasonable compared to other quotes for damper and sweeping. I will would recommend to anyone with a fire place.
The other company I called was pushy and wanted to do a cleaning even though I just asked for an inspection and estimate at the time. I didn’t want to pay for a cleaning if the fire place was in need of major repair and not usable.

Andre was increadable. Talked to me about issues and fixed the problem correctly. I love that he was extremly careful with any dust from the fireplace and made sure everything was completly cleaned. I would recommend Andre in a heartbeat to take care of your chimney needs !!!!

Realtor who sold me my house had these guys "sweep" / "clean" the chimney. I ended up having to have the chimney re-swept/cleaned as they only cleaned the top of the fireplace. The smoke box and actual fireplace looked like they hadn't been touched in a long time. Took my sweep an hour to clean up the mess left by this company. I strongly suggest Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep.

Bob and his son are great - very well priced for services and very thourough. Came to my house the day before xmas to make sure I could burn wood (after converting from Gas the week before). Installed a topper and checked for masonry defects. Done in about 1 hour.
