Vortex Insulation
Vortex Insulation is family owned and operated licensed insulation contractor in San Francisco Bay Area. Did you know that most homes in the Peninsula built before 1970 have little or no Insulation? Spray Foam Insulation is a two-component mixture composed of an "A side" (Isocyanate) and a "B side" (Polyol resin).

These two materials previously heated comes out from a tip of a spray gun, the mixture reacts forming a foam that adheres to surfaces like roofs, walls or floors or fills cavities. This material has extraordinary physical properties that make Spray Foam Insulation one of the best materials for Insulate homes and other structures.

Spray foam insulation is made with a mixture of liquid elements that change in form as they are applied. As the liquid travels through the gun and gets heated up, the components get ready to react and expand once they are sprayed onto the wall surface. The expansion happens in ten seconds or less, meaning that even large areas in commercial buildings or homes with a lot of square footage can get sprayed in a matter of minutes.

We used Vortex Insulation to remove our old (nasty) blown-in insulation and replace it with new R38 batting.
Vortex is a family-owned and operated business. We worked with the owner, Luis Huerta for the quote. He as very straightforward and concise. Told us exactly how they will do the job, and quickly gave us a quote. They specialize in foam insulation, and offered that as an option, but were not pushy about it.
Mike is the office person. Very friendly and when I called was always responsive.
Abel (Luis' brother), was the onsite supervisor and lead worker for a team of three. They removed all

If you have ever tried to insulate your own home using traditional methods you know that it is no fun and not very easy to do correctly, which is why our architect suggested that we consider using spray foam insulation instead.
While the upfront cost of spray foam insulation is more expensive, it offers many benefits that you do not get with traditional insulation methods, and in the long-term your energy cost-savings can be significant and easily pay for the cost of spray foam insulation many times over.
So instead of doing the insulation work ourselves, our architect convinced us to hire someone
