If your air conditioner stopped working first go though this checklist before calling for A/C Repair Service. It may be something simple you can resolve. This example would be for a split system where the A/C is outside on the ground and the furnace and evaporator coil is in the house. Is this a sudden problem where the a/c was working great and now suddenly stopped cooling?
Before turning on your Air Conditioner, here are a few do it your self maintenance steps you should do. It's best to do this in the spring on a warm day before you need your A/C. With the unit turned off, wash off the outside unit coil with water. Spray water on the perimeter of the outside coil until the water draining off of the unit and its clear.
Before Having a New AC Installed You May Want To Get A Second Opinion From A Company That Only Does Repairs. Getting a second opinion before getting a new system or doing a costly repair might just save you a ton of money. Over the years I've found people often are convinced they should replace their unit well before it needs to be.
Below is a rough draft of a template I am working on to help stay balanced and organized without becoming stagnant. It's worked really well for me and my personality and I'm wondering if it could help others in the pursuit of being productive and effective in whatever you are doing in life. I've developed a very simple plan to follow for gaining control over your life and becoming your own Master.
The nice things about most modern heaters is that they do not require much maintenance. Call for professional service if you have any concerns or if it's been years since being looked at. Turn on the heater, if its the first time open some windows as the dust will burn off of the heat exchanger. Check your smoke alarms and get a good carbon monoxide detector with a digital readout.

I have done business with Sierra Aire on a couple occasions, and have found Patrick to be courteous, and very knowledgeable. Rather that saying that your older unit is not worth fixing, he let me know what it would take to fix the one I have. In both cases I went with the repair (both were different and not related over two years apart.

Patrick responded quickly to my service request. He came out the same day and quickly diagnosed and fixed my heater, which makes the whole family happy! While he was here, he looked over my aging AC unit, replaced a part I knew was on its last legs and showed me a few things I could easily do to service both the heater and the AC myself to extend their life and run more efficiently. I took a chance on this company after my air conditioner stopped working last March. We thought we would have had to buy a new one, but we thought we would try. We got help very quickly. Repair person was very helpful and knowledable and honest about everything. Since our condensor wasnt finished yet our repair lasted for the entire season, and hopefully into the next....

Our AC went out and everyone I called didn't have anything available within 2 days and it was 100degrees + I told him about my situation and right then and there on the phone he had me run to the AC unit outside to check on some things. Long story short he said he could come out in the morning and I told him I have a 2 year old daughter and dogs that are hot . He then called back a couple hours after and said he'll make a pit stop over after hours to take a look. He came through and fixed our issue within a hour tops! We called in May because our air conditioner wasn't putting out cold air anymore and Patrick was able to come within 45 minutes of our call and fixed our a/c right away. He is very knowledgeable and was patient with our many questions. He did a great job and our a/c is working better than it ever has in the 5 years we have lived in this house.

I woke up to a very HOT house and didn't even know what to do. A friend at work recommended Patrick at Sierra Aire. I called him and he asked me a few questions and he said he was pretty sure what it was and told me that he had not heard from his next appt and wanted to know if I wanted him out here right away. WOW was I lucky! He was there in 30 min. And replaced 3 parts in my exterior unit and I was back in business. He also walked me through a maitanance routine for me to do on a yearly basis. He was OUTSTANDING.

Could not have asked for better service from Patrick. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable and honest. He doesnt do full system installs so I didnt have to worry about him trying to sell me a whole new system. He took the time to explain the all of the details of what exactly was wrong and what he could do to address it. He was more than fair with us on pricing and ended up giving us some good advice on our system as well. He came and looked at my very old air conditioner and told me he saw 2 things that weren't working but couldn't guarantee that if we fixed those it would work because he didn't know if the compressor was broken. He fixed the 2 things & it started working. I paid him and then 1 hour after he left it stopped again. I called and he had me do a couple things & it started working again. He called back on his own a couple hours later & asked if it was working. It wasn't so he asked to come over

Patrick was a really great service provider. My air conditioner worked, but it was not optimal. I knew it was an older unit and that potentially it had a leak from what others had told me. He offered to come out for a diagnostic visit right away.
When he did come out, he initially believed he could repair it, but when he realized that it would be beyond his scope, he did not end up charging based on his own principles in the business.
This was much appreciated! He even gave me a referral to another provider that would be able to replace the whole unit.

Patrick came down and checked out our A/C unit and he gave us options to fix it rather than just telling us the whole thing needs to be replaced like the other companies that I had look at it. Our unit had definitely seen better days since it's over 30+ years old but he didn't give up on it which I can appreciate. My heater quit working this morning and I called Patrick. We set up an appointment for tomorrow. He called me back 10 minutes later and said his first customer canceled and he could come now. Patrick showed up in 20 minutes and went to work. He found my problem and diagnosed a few maintenance problems. He explained that I did not need a new unit and he could repair mine.

Super knowledgeable, trustworthy, and has excellent work ethic. I really appreciate the time spent educating me on the specifics of my system. Patrick was able to explain what was important to spend money on and what wasn't. He assessed our problem quickly and accurately, even going above and beyond. Patrick just finished repairing our unit after 2 other companies told us it's at the end of its life and too far tampered with (previous owners) to work properly again. Patrick was super honest, clearly knew what he was doing (even though our unit was acting weirdly, even for him, but it's working now!), and he came out within the hour! He had all the correct parts needed to replace the bad ones and even cleaned out our unit, which has a bunch of crud in it. Happily sitting in my warm house now thanks to his expertise and honesty!

Our heater would not turn on and we called Patrick from Sierra Aire and he was able to come the same day. He explained everything very thoroughly and found the problem right away. He told us that he needed to replace the pressure switch that took about 15 minutes and my heater was up and working right away. While he was here he said he could take a look at our air conditioner and found that it needed a dual run capacitor so it would not surge the system and would run better and efficiently.
