I called after hours for an emergency A/C repair and the experience was great. Someone was at my house in 30 minutes, and 15 minutes later my house was cooling down. Not inexpensive, but about what I expected for a repair at 8 PM. The gentleman who answered the phone and the technician he sent were both very courteous and efficient.

Our heater went out Thursday and we called the local H&C company we have used for years,and they told us they couldn't even check on us until Tuesday, so we called American and they came first thing Friday morning, and by Monday @ 3pm our new furnace was on and heating up the house. The service technician was knowledgable and professional. The installation team were also A1. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing professional service.

Our experience with this company was, by far, the worst experience we have ever had with a service provider of this sort. I called them to come and check a drip from my furnace. The technician came, worked on the furnace, and then I got a call telling me the drip was stopped, but the furnace now didn't work at all. Was told I needed a new furnace! Other than the drip, I had no problems with the furnace up to that point. They offered to put a new furnace in. Since it was the middle of January, I didn't have much choice.

Most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with, I have been trying to get my gas fireplace fixed for 2 months, still doesn't work, never come when they are supposed to or even set an actual time. It's hard to take off a set time from work if you don't even know if they'll show up. They were supposed to come out today, no shows again. I would never recommend them to anyone.

My son recently purchased his first home. American installed the fireplace insert improperly. Instead of an elbow, they put a stainless steel tube that is clearly visible - about 8" high and is placed right near the flame. They admit it was improperly installed, but it's been weeks many calls and a show to correct this. Still no resolution.
