We used Alcor Solar to install a new pool solar system this year. They were helpful over the phone, came to our home promptly to provide us a bid and were reasonably priced. They got us on their calendar within a week (when other vendors were quoting months out) and the install was done smoothly and professionally. We look forward to using them for on/off annual service in the future.

My family first used Alcor Solar when our first pool solar panels were installed in the 90's. We had the roof redone in 2013 and had updated pool solar panels installed then. We recently had Alcor come out to repair a leaking solar panel. They are responsive, honest, and always go above and beyond. And Al is the best :)

No masks, the woman on the phone was not personable. I have a Suntrek system that the former homeowners put in and I can't get Suntrek to come out or respond to me so I had to go with Alcor. I was rudely informed that because of my steep roof, I'd have to find someone else to shut the system down next winter. They charge an exorbitant amount for the winterization service to begin with and then tacked on an extra fee because I was coming to them as a brand new client after 12/31. I got the system in Sept. 2015 (aquatherm industries) pool solar system until the summer of 2018 when I sold the home. My pool was in the 700 sq foot range in south Livermore with south facing roof. We were consistently able to swim comfortably from late April-early October.

We were referred to Alcor Solar by our pool company and the referral was well justified. When they initially came to our home, they surveyed our roofs for the best panel location and measured the size of the pool to determine the correct number of panels required to heat it. Cliff and Jeff did an incredible job of installing the panels and connecting them to our existing pool system. Not only does the system perform well, it looks great. They completed the installation in one day and cleaned up after themselves when done. I would recommend Alcor Solar to anyone who is looking into cutting the costs

We got solar pool heating installed and every day in the spring, summer and fall our pool is at 80-85 degrees depending on where we set it. In the summer the pool can actually get too warm so we simply adjust the automatic thermostat. They installed it quickly and cleaned up everything spotless. Because I had an older pool pump they needed to order a special part which was hard to find and in 3 days it was installed. I had a concern about the need for them to cut concrete but they were able to tunnel below the concrete so it looks seamless. No more need to heat the pool with gas and my bills have

My house had very old pool heating solar panels on it. I had my entire house re-roofed and electrical solar installed. Alcor coordinated removal of their old panels before the roofing/solar work, and installed new pool solar panels promptly after the roofing/solar work. I was very happy with their work.

I was redoing a very old solar pool system and found alcor online, They were extremely helpful on the phone and later in person. I bought a bunch of stuff but changed systems and had to return some of what aI had purchased. They were still pleasant and professional. I will return for other purchase related to my solar needs.

Al gave me a bid that was inline with the other 2 bids however he was the only one to point out that the pool had inadequate returns for its size and any solar would have a hard time working properly. He recommended we have that fixed prior to solar installation. we did and a month later Alcor placed our panels flawlessly and our pool was warm all summer we kept it between 85-90 a bit warm for me but the kids just loved it. we have had zero problems but when ever I have a question or for winterizing Al has been super responsive.

Very nice to deal with the business owner and get a fair price (saved over $1000 by going with Al) for our new solar heating system. Everything went according to schedule, the technicians were great, and there were no surprises along the way. Al's team even helped remove an old heater from the 70's and replace some copper pipes to avoid future leaks. I learned alot, laughed alot, and would recommend Al's team to anyone.

The two technicians from Alcor were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They showed up on time, promptly found and fixed three leaks in my collectors and assessed their condition. They explained that, at this time, it wouldn't be necessary to replace them.
They took the time to answer all my questions, tested the temperature sensors for proper function and re-enabled the solar booster pump. The charges were more than reasonable
Needless to say, I am very pleased. When the time comes for new collectors, Alcor will be my first choice.

Our first experience owning a pool and getting quotes from a variety of vendors on pump, heater and solar. The quotes varied quite a bit but what I loved about Alcor was how friendly and efficient Al was even on the quoting. He sure knows his stuff. We decided to go with Alcor and couldn't have been happier. We have an older Anthony pool and Al was albe to work around the old stuff, install a new heater, new solar and a new variable speed pump. Fantastic experience from quote all the way to the end. Can't think about any negative. Cleanup was great.

I have utilized Alcor Solar on two different homes. Our current home in Walnut Creek was a real challenge and Alcor came through big time. Lots of valleys and rises in our roof, yet they expertly installed 12 panels and the pool runs warm all summer and late into the fall. I would recommend the automatic thermostat...it keeps the pool from getting too warm. We like it at 80 and that is where it stays all swim season. I did use one other local solar company years ago and it was a disaster. Alcor is honest and does excellent work, you will not regret giving the assignment to these guys.

Alcor is legit and did a great job on my solar. I bid the project out to 4 guys and Al gave me a competitive price. I chose Alcor based on my impression of Al and my research into his company. It turns out that he intalled solar for a bunch of people I know through work and they all vouched for him.
Only problem now is that my kids want to go in the pool every day where as before my delicate little flowers only liked to swim when it was like 110 outside.

For some reason, Yelp filtered my review. Once again, Alcor gave us the best out of three estimates, did the work in a timely manner, and has had excellent follow-up. Our pool is a larger, older pool and the system keeps it at a pleasant swimming temperature. Please check out my filtered review - I can't say it better than I did before it was filtered!

From my very first contact a month ago to this afternoon (when the job was completed) Al Accurso surpassed all of our expectations. We had to replace our existing solar pool heating (because our roof had failed) and Al offered us an innovative and creative way to do so. Alcor Solar fixed a cracked end plug and a defective glue joint on pvc fittings to the panel connector. I left a message in the morning and they were out within hours. Diablo Solar had a 2.5 week wait. The technician was friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. I give Alcor Solar my highest recommendation for pool solar units.
