I’m always glad to hear the SPCO. I’ve been following them from the early days. I will always support them any way I can. They ebb and flow musically speaking. They have moments of sublime music making and moments that are in the shadow of their peaks. Inside information, the word is of political infighting. From the outside it seems easy to solve. Serve the music. No one is above that. Music is not a democracy. It is not even fair. One person makes the decisions. That’s obvious. The real question is where does the money go and who makes those decisions. Administration should listen and listen

As a musician and violin teacher from Montreal, Qc, I had the great pleasure of hearing the SPCO perform last weekend in Minnesota (Great Benson Hall, Arden Hills) with the wonderful and charming, violinist Pekka Kuusisto. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, my sister and I were treated to a lush repertoire of Sibelius' works, performed by their extremely talented and enthusiastic artists. They spared no energy in relaying their love of music to us. Mr Kuusisto also 'wowed' us with a unique encore playing violin while whistling a haunting folkloric tune that soon transformed into a full-blown, foot

Not only was the music spectacular, but when seats were available on the main floor, an SPCO representative called me to ask if my friend and I wanted free seat upgrades! I really appreciate all of their efforts to make classical music more accessible for young adults like me :D Thanks SPCO!

I am a somewhat regular attendee of SPCO concerts -- and a younger one at that. My experiences with audience members and the air of snootiness and discourtesy I've experienced on multiple occasions at the Ordway's Concert Hall has pretty much broken my enjoyment of this world class orchestra. This third time was at a concert on Sunday 9/17 and constituted irate parents who were upset when I asked their kids to please stop kicking my seat and was berated by their idiot helicopter parents who denied it. And the problem is, if you raise an issue then the rest of the passive-aggressive attendees give

My comments direct themselves to the fuund raising efforts of SPCO. Last week I received a solliciation at two minutes until 9 P.M. from a man who was insistent in talking with y wife. I told him she was not home. He then launched into her support of SPCOand asked me for my support. I told him I did not support SPCO. He then said he would call back sometime fr my wife. The next day at 6:20 P.M. he again called. I told him to take our number off the calling list, that the calls were intrusive and unwanted. He then raised his voice telling me I had asked him to call back at 6:30. When I informed
