Our AC went out during the recent heat wave, and when I called All Star, Jason made time to come over within a couple of hours of my call. He did an inspection and we discussed options, then he prepared a quote that included the options and their respective price points. It was a very transparent and straightforward process. We decided to have the furnace and AC replaced, as they were both ancient. The installation was scheduled for the following week, and all was good, except that it was very hot in our house! The next day, Jason contacted me and offered us a loaner window AC unit. He delivered

I just got my new ac unit installed today 04/13/2020. I had Justin and Matt as my technicians. They did a fantastic job, I wish I could give them more then 5 stars that's how happy I am with the work. Not only were they nice and had good sense of humor's, they were also very communicative about what they were doing and why they were doing it. They worked very hard, did not take a break until the job was done and got everything done in a timely fashion. The owner (Jason) came out to do are bid and had a quote ready in the same visit, where I had to wait 3 or more days with other companies. He was

Matt, Jason, and Justin and all the staff involved were outstanding. Matt came same day I called, a Friday, with an issue and did a temporary fix. Emails with photos and information on who was coming to my home were great. Justin came Monday for a full estimate and to make sure all was working as Matt had left it and by Friday Justin and crew had our new systems installed and up and running. Great customer service, no hidden costs, quality company. Highly recommend.

Having used All Star for servicing our furnace and air unit, our air unit finally gave up after 27 years 😁
We asked All Star to fit a new air unit etc.
The fitters where the most wonderful young men, professional, and knew exactly what they were doing at all times.
It was a very hot day 90+, but they didn't falter they pushed on and got the job done.
I would recommend All Star over and above any other other company.
They are the best.

Jason was a pleasure to work with and is very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. The All Star team (Nick and Thomas) showed up on time and were also very knowledgeable and polite. They replaced my furnace and AC unit and did a great job. Very professional and everything is working great. If you live in the Sycamore area you should give ALL STAR a chance, I'm very happy I did.

SCAM ALERT The previous owner retired and moved out of state. This year, we called the same place again for our cooling to get recharged. The new owners had taken over.They quoted a price of $298. After filling the freon, guy asked for $398. My husband said no, it was $298.The guy said yes, and its plus $100 fee service to evaluate the unit. We never asked for the unit to be evaluated -just filled. The guy said they always evaluate the units. So why did you quote $298 then? We paid the $298 and will never use them again. Not honest, do not recommend.

After getting ripped off by other HVAC companies for years, I finally found Greg at All-Star. He somehow always squeezes me in when I have a problem, even during busy, bad weather events (other places would schedule me a week out, knowing that my furnace wasn't working on the coldest day of the year). His prices are unbelievable compared to theirs, too (about 1/3 of what I was paying elsewhere). AND he makes me feel secure and comfortable. He explains how the furnace works (or should work) and shows you exactly what is wrong. This guy (and his team) is so honest and worth every penny.

The owner shows up at my door at 7 am to reschedule our appointment for an earlier time that day. Seven. A. M. No phone call. Banging on my front door like someone's trying to murder him. I'm not exaggerating. THEN we make a follow-up appointment for 5 pm last Wednesday and he doesn't show up. No phone call, no nothing. Just doesn't show up. Today is Sunday. He's here right now at 4 pm doing the work without even calling us to see if we're home or if it's OK to come. This is absolutely unacceptable for any human being, let alone a business owner. I'm gobsmacked

Updated 8/27/17: Gregory saw the review and immediately responded a day later by calling on 8/21/17 and asking what he could do. We asked him to just issue a refund because my husband and I both thought the same thing without having to discuss it.
It already costed $85 for a few things prior to this so we were unsure how much the final cost would be to troubleshoot and actually fix the air conditioner.
I have changed the star rating to three stars because at this point, we both feel neutral and feel Greg and his company are fair.

First experience: Called for service. Had appointment, they didn't show. After a couple of phone calls they tacked us on at the end of the day, sat waiting for hours. Guys who came out nice, so we gave them second chance when we needed furnace service. Had appointment, AGAIN did not show up and NEVER called. We called office. No one answered and voice mailbox full. Nothing posted to website re any problems.
Treat customers like crap, I'm out and will make sure my neighbors know.

Greg, the owner is a very nice guy. My AC went out on the weekend so I called him Monday morning and he was out here in an hour. He showed me my air conditioner and what part broke. It was the silver capacitor that we replaced. He was in and out in a half hour and it only cost me $130. I would recommend this guy to anyone!

My furnace (both heating and A/C) stopped working after a small internal fire. Not only did they come right out and repair the problem, but the bill was far less than I expected (only charged me 80 bucks labor for two visits and repair). On top of that they explained exactly what the problem was, cleaned out my furnace for no charge, and suggested what I might need in the future with zero pressure to buy. Love my experience and plan to use All Star everytime in the future.
