By stripping and waxing tile floors not only do you achieve a high gloss but you also protect the tile. New VCT (vinyl composition tile) has to be stripped and waxed. The manufacturer applies a coat of sealer that must be removed then wax is applied for protection and to get a high gloss. Some vct (Vinyl composition tile) may be top scrubbed and waxed.
