Steve has a tremendous amount of experience as a project architect and planner. He has received national recognition for his architectural work around the Seattle area in landmarked buildings as well as master planning. Steve offers keen insight and a sense of humor for clients. When not in the office, you'll find him competing with his TP52 sailboat, Mist on the Salish Sea.

Jeff Oaklief's 30-plus years of professional experience covers a wide architectural spectrum: port facilities to restaurants; mixed-use to multifamily. Jeff's experience with construction types range from Type V to Type 1A. His organizational and communication skills are especially suited to the design, coordination and management of complex projects.

Jeff also likes to sail. You'll find him out on his Farrier F9R trimaran, Ruf Duck. Mirta brings a variety of skills from her professional practice within a unique architectural context and on-site project management. She is an exceptional architect and has served as principal partner at ARQAS S.A.C. in Lima, Peru for many years before coming to work with JOA&P.

Completed in October of 2021, the Marquee Apartments faces Everett's growing downtown theater district, filling an empty mid-block site in the city. The facade is designed to complement the curved forms of the theater buildings and echo the sweep of box-seat balconies around an auditorium. Marquee has 77 apartments and a handsome central lobby.
The REO Flats apartments preserves the pedestrian character of the vital, existing street-scape, while accommodating a very dense redevelopment of the site; a mixed-use residential and retail building in the growing Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Broadcast Apartments is located on 15th Avenue and Madison Street, serving as a gateway to the Pike/Pine neighborhood. There are 70 residential units, 4 live-work units, commercial space at ground level, and below grade parking. Pedestrian oriented street frontage has been designed to enhance the character and vitality of the neighborhood and accommodate a future high-speed transit corridor.
Aero Apartments is a mixed-use residential office project which reflects the city of Everett's aviation history and brings a denser pedestrian oriented development to the downtown waterfront core. Street uses consist of office space and 7 live-work units in an improved street frontage. Residential portions of the building consist of 97 units with a mix of studio, alcove, one and two bedroom units.
Evolve Apartments was one of the first buildings to push south from the energetic Pike/Pine neighborhood. It has been designed to meet the needs of the employees of Seattle University and the several nearby hospitals, with a broad mix of unit types including opportunities for shared living situations.
