Headquartered in Southern California, our design sensibilities lean towards the modern and minimal with site-appropriate responses and the smart use of materials. We work with clients on a variety of project types that range from the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, to authoring design guidelines for international industrial parks, to helping cannabis clients navigate complex state and local licensing, design and construction requirements, to serving as sustainability guides for LEED Platinum office buildings.

Kristi's design eye, technical expertise and consensus-building leadership skills have been honed over her 22 years of project and community leadership experience on commercial, industrial, civic, university, K-12, mid- and high-rise mixed-use, residential and master planning projects throughout Southern California and across the U.S.

Kristi Byers, Architect is a small, San Diego-based, team of architects and designers who embrace challenging problems and value collaboration and rigor. We believe that design happens at every stage of the architectural process - from writing a contract with appropriate scope and fees to negotiating detail execution with contractors in the field.
