Neil Kelly has been such a wonderful find for our Portland condo repairs (window and cabinet repair). Nathan who worked on our unit has been the most responsive and positive professional I've ever hired for repair work. He looked up online parts that couldn't be easily found, made extra trips to get parts, and did everything to ensure the job was done right. Highly recommend!

We had met with Tessa Isett for an initial consolation on our remodel project and are very disappointed in her followup. Not only did WE have to contact her to get the estimate, more than a week after our meeting, we again have not heard back from her after requesting some additional prices on the project.

If it take this long to get a response to questions why would we trust that the project would be done in a timely manner. Therefore we have chosen another contractor to work on our remodel.

George and Sarah

Yeah, the average of 3 stars seems about right. Hired to hang a porch swing from kind of a tricky ceiling. Scheduling was smooth and the guy came out and got it done nicely. However it took longer than estimated with no real good explanation why. Was billed 9 hours on a 4-8 hour estimate. Im not a foreman but it didnt look to me like there was much urgency to bring the project in on time, or any communication after the fact why it wasnt.

Meh.

I had my roof replaced on my home on what might have been the hottest week in 2020. The crew was so professional and quick, leaving very little evidence that they were even there at the end of the day. Tygh Tarlton came by each evening after they were done and checked their work; and when he did find something that he didn’t think looked how it should, he made sure it was fixed the following day. I got a lot of estimates before making a decision, and while Neil Kelly was on the higher side on price, their work and customer service far exceeded my expectations. I know that when I am ready for

We chose Neil Kelly to restore our home to it's former glory after severe water damage. Karen Richmond was amazing. The entire process was truly free of headaches. Karen had answers to all of our questions, and advocated for us at every turn. She was able to solve problems and exceed our expectations before, during, and after the project was completed. Why is Neil Kelly worth it? Because of the extraordinary professionals like Karen Richmond. Thank you!

I have used Neil Kelly Company for years from small projects, remodeling powder room, replacing backsplash in kitchen, rebuilding fireplace and tearing down a sunroom and replace it with a gorgeous covered patio. I have learned you get what you pay for. They are not the cheapest but they are dependable, quality and provide the service I expect for spending money on my house. Kudos to Janel Campbell, Dan Moore and team.

To my knowledge there were never any "issues" with the electrical work to be done, prior to the bid or during the actual work completed. My "issue" was the cost associated with the job, charging us approximately $250 an hour plus 40% when average electrician rates are $125-$150 an hour. I'm curious if you backed into the hourly rate to help match the original quote or just found the most expensive electrician there is knowing you could just lass it along.

We hired Neil Kelly (at the recommendation of Mark Powers of Mark Powers painting - thank you, Mark!!) to help us create two home offices with barn doors out of existing space in our house. The job entailed installation of two new walls (with framing and sound insulation), as well as hanging drywall and installation of two barn doors. Brendan Kerg helped us plan the job and offered some great suggestions that left us with results even better than expected! Scheduling was super easy, payment was super easy and we could not be happier! They did a fantastic job and were a joy to work with all along

We had an open loft space that we wanted to convert into a bedroom. Casey Deck at Neil Kelly helped us understand how to accomplish that and arranged for the work. The bid came in at a competitive price and the work was done on time and on budget. Casey was extremely professional and responsive. The project ended up better than we imagined. We are very happy we went with Neil Kelly.

Neil Kelly is not the lowest cost contractor, but we went with them because we wanted our remodel to be hassle free, and didn't want to be surprised by low quality materials. True to their reputation, everything went off without a hitch. The materials and more importantly, skills of the labor was top notch. I was particularly pleased by Beckett, the carpenter who was on site for three months. Not only was her work excellent, but she was also pleasant to be around, which is a big deal when someone is in your house for three months. Our project was completed on time and on budget, despite Covid

I want to commend Neil Kelly for the lengths they go to protect the homeowner, and their employees, from COVID-19 and other viruses. They are one of the very few companies deemed an essential service that takes their employees use of PPE, gloves and disinfectant seriously. And I am thankful. It made me feel comfortable having a contractor in my house. Marcus came to my home yesterday to do a simple electrical job. He wore a mask and gloves at all times, and had wipes and a bottle of Lysol with him. He wiped down everything he touched with Lysol after he finished the work. Even the last door handle

The blower fan in our range hood started making a racket. Since the hood was only a few years old, we still had warranty coverage. The manufacturer sent a replacement blower and told us to contact a local appliance repair company for installation and reimbursement. The appliance repair company sent people out 3 times but each said they couldn't accomplish this task. We called Neil Kelly Company since they had helped us in the past. Neil Kelly sent out Nadia L. and Allen H. who had the blower replaced and working silently in @ 1 hour. Thank you Neil Kelly Company

Estimates mean nothing at the end of the day.

I expected the estimate to be the possible ranges of fees. By the time the job finally finished it was 35% over the high-end of the estimate.

The work and (subcontractors) people were nice and competent - that's why I didn't give one star. The timing was a bit longer than planned.

Recommend putting in "not to exceed X" so you know when they are over budget. Not worth a lien on my house or else I would have fought it more.

We were interested in having our kitchen and bathroom remodeled and asked them to come to place a bid. Spent an hour with them in the home and detailed what we wanted. After a week, we were called and told that it would cost $500 to get a bid. This is really frustrating as we took time out of our work schedules to make this work.
This company does not appear clear in terms of there charges. I would be wary of them.

This company remodeled my kitchen more than 15 years ago, and I regret it to this day. I should have shopped around more. They are extremely overpriced, and I ended up doing a lot of the work myself and having to outsource the counter top and tile work to other companies. There's another word that always comes to mind when I think of Neil Kelly: arrogant. I'm still disappointed.

If you're thinking of using Neil Kelly, I would recommend that you get bids from other reputable companies. I still feel ripped off, but it's no one's fault but my own. I learned my lesson

We chose Neil Kelly to remodel the kitchen of our vacation home in Seaside and to install a new roof. We worked closely with Chad Ruhoff and Jennifer Renninger. They are very personable, easy to work with, and had great ideas to help us keep the cost reasonable and still have a high quality result.
Chad created a comprehensive approach and schedule to complete the remodel within the timeline we desired, and delivered on that promise, finishing right on schedule without any cost overruns. We could not be happier and highly recommend Chad and Neil Kelly.

Called Neil Kelly handyman services about a leaking shower drain. Howard came over and did his evaluation. It started as repairing leaky shower and ended up as a complete remodel of two bathrooms. He did an amazing job! He is very thorough and honest. Cannot say enough good things about him! My sister is waiting for NK to do some work in their house. Will use them in the future again.

Well this company is just a nightmare to work with. We though we were rid of them two years ago after a positively grueling six month project (six of those superfun weeks being an unannounced blackout period of no one showing up to make progress on our project and not being able to get a call back), but alas, they are in our lives again because the work they did during that project failed. The most generous thing I can say about this group is at least they offer a five year warranty on the shoddy work they do. So they can come back and do it again two years later! Or, say they're going to

Don't waste your time or money dealing with this unprofessional and incompetent business.

I called Neil Kelly to get some work done on my house to complete a project that was abandoned by a completely unethical former employee of theirs.

I explained in detail my situation to several people every time I had contact with Neil Kelly staff: Janell, who referred me to the handyman team, Jenn Harbick: whose voicemail I believe my initial inquiry was sent to, then Irie Searcy who finally called to schedule with me weeks later.

Irie brought several people to my home to scope out the job, and create

We had a very positive experience working with Neil Kelly Company on our 1910 farmhouse kitchen remodel.
From our initial meeting with Barbara Miller, Design Consultant, we felt heard. Her ability to listen well produced a design that fits our large extended family gatherings. She addressed engineering concerns by enlisting experts. She worked within our budget and with our abilities. We're thrilled with the flow, function and beauty of our farmhouse kitchen.
We also had great confidence in Brian Silver, project manager.
His oversight and follow through was of the highest standard.

What was quoted to me as a $3,000, 3-day job ended up being $11K+ and taking more than a month. I felt like they had me over a barrel. I wasn't told until mid-job that they'd used up their allotted work hours and I would need to pay more if I wanted the job complete. I ended up having to redo some of the work too. I will never use or recommend this company again.

Neil Kelly just finished a $30,000 upgrade to my very old house and my husband and I couldn't be any happier!

I originally called up Enhabit to have them take a look at my house for earthquake safety. Enhabit is a third-party nonprofit that offers free Home Performance Checks for energy efficiency, and health/safety. Enhabit sent out Troy Zdzieblowski to complete the first inspection--I highly recommend working with him! Troy is extremely knowledgable, professional, and passionate about what he does. Handyman was nice and personable but I felt totally ripped off. It took him 4 HOURS to hang a few small pieces of art, put some hooks in the wall/ceiling, put up a mirror and a towel rack. At $85/hr. Luckily he only ended up charging me for 3 hours but he seriously took his sweet time at my house. Maybe it was just the guy but if he is representing this company I would not recommend for small projects.

And he also gave me an estimate on installing ceiling fans from the electrician that works with him at his company (I believe) - $1200 for 2 fans.
Good thing I got that done elsewhere- $330 in
