Niles McArthur is a General Contractor with 20 years experience in the trades. Together with his wife Jessica, brother Chance, and a small crew Tricks of the Trades helps clients remodel, restore, and repair their Oregon homes. We have developed relationships with professional sub-contractors over the years who help us as needed.

We can completely renovate your kitchen, or upgrade and update your existing one. Your kitchen is possibly the most important room in your home. We can help get your home ready to sell with surface treatments for a clean presentation, or we can also install your dream kitchen.
Remodeling a bathroom is one of the best improvements you can make to your home! Need a bathroom addition? We can help you add another bathroom, it can be easier and more affordable than you think. We can do full bathroom remodels, or upcycle your current bathroom with surface treatments. We give you the space to choose the products and styles you like that work with your budget.

Niles and Chance were on schedule, stayed on budget (which was better than any of my other bids) and completed the basement "make-over" of my dreams. I would HIGHLY recommend them both for creativity, quality workmanship and being really easy to work with-they are fabulous!!
Next project will certainly have them at the top of the list at my house.
They both picked up the slack and worked well with new subs to get the job done. Thank you Niles and Chance!

Initially, we hired Niles to upgrade our bathroom. We got three competitive bids, and his was the lowest. We don't always pick a contractor because the bid is lowest; other factors come into consideration. However, we really liked Niles. He seemed easy to work with. Our instincts were right. Niles did a great job installing new tile in our bath/shower surround, fixtures, a new recessed mirror cabinet, lighting, a toilet and painting.
