5Star Movers is a professional, licensed, BBB accredited moving company that is based locally in Dallas, Texas. We offer both residential and commercial services, along with local and long distance moving. We carry insurance limits higher than the state's requirements, and for our commercial clients, we also carry general liability insurance.
Seems obvious right? About 55% of our customers book within a week of their actual moving date. We understand things happen at the last minute, and truthfully we don't mind it much but, try to avoid making a stressful move. So if you know the date, book a mover fast because you don't want to settle with any mover because everyone else (meaning us) are booked.
We work with any type of budget. We can move only the "bigger" items, all the furniture and we even pack and unpack if the customer desires. Our staff will ALWAYS take the time to ask about the amount of items you are moving to make sure you are getting a truck big enough for your move and to make sure you are not overpaying for a service or truck you do not need.
We understand how overwhelming and stressful a move can be. We also are dedicated to making sure the moving process goes as easy and smooth as possible. Therefore, we now offer Moving Boxes and Packing Materials for purchase. We understand everyone's move is unique, so if you need more or less items added to your package let us know and we will customize a package for your size move.
Here at 5Star Movers we know times are hard and people now a days have a very strict budget. With so much competition we know and understand why customers "shop around" when it comes to movers. But a lot of customers don't understand what a licensed and bonded mover is and how important it is to be covered.

This company is owned by a bunch of liars and thieves. This company was contracted through U Move Free. This was the worst moving experience of my life. To make a long story short. A 2.5 hour move took 5 hours with 3 guys. They never worked all at the same time. While 1 or 2 we're working the other would be hanging around the truck. They tracked mud all throughout the apartment from mud caked wheels on the dollie and claimed that they could not help it. They are not the first moving company to move after a rain. I used this company for a move and I then referred my 78 and 80 year old aunts to them for a move. So from my 1 move they received 2 referrals. My Aunt was moving into another retirement village. When the movers arrived the truck was so small they could not even pack the living room in the small truck. They had to make 2 trips (for a 700 sq ft apt) because they didn't bring the right size truck they charged my Aunt who is on a fixed income 800 for less than 6 miles. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They will steal and break your items and then will not replace or pay for the items. The movers they sent to move my items one looked like a Drug Addict with all of his front teeth missing, and the manager was a fat slob (Martin) that lied and tried to slam my front door after leaving because he was mad that I told them that they were trying to nickel and dime me. They stole my firestick and lost the water cup to my hair steamer that I can no longer use without the water cup. I had to replace my hair steamer which cost me $250. They also broke my night

Definitely on of the worst moving companies and scammers out there. I had them do a complete pick up and move in June. My boyfriend passed away next to me In my bed a few days Prior. So understandable I did not want to be in my apartment and pack my things myself. They told be 800 at first and then ended up charging me almost 1,600. Come to find out when moving back in. MANY of my things had been STOLEN and damaged. PLEASE Don't use this company. They are crooked and made my situation worse then before, scamming me in a time of hurt and unimaginable loss. They were rude, showed up 2 1/2 hours

I do not suggest this palce at this location period they dropped 2 of my TVs put holes in my box springs and broke some of my place I called to tell the boss she said she couldn't do any thing till they were done so I waited till they were done called again she said that they would cover it no problem so I was I thought oh ok signed the contract had them leave called the place again and was told some guy named Martin was gonna send me the money then I waited didn't come so I called only to be sent to voice mail multiple time as if I was blocked now I cant fond the address to this

The most horrible moving company you can imagine. They broke the frame to my sofa and put numerous holes in my box springs. Gave me $114.00 They sent me a money order from a grocery store. You are crazy if you use these losers to move your stuff. The owner is the rudest pissed off man you could ever imagine.

The absolute worst experience of my families life.
The team arrived 4 hours late, with no materials. They walked in with nothing and asked us "so, how do you want us to pack this"? They actually asked us for tape!
They were belligerent and rude and acted like they were put out.
Please, please run from this company!

Moving is a frustrating process in itself and 5 Star Movers made it absolutely miserable. I was confirmed movers to be at my apartment between 4 and 7 p.m. I called around 5 p.m. to see if I could get an updated time and I was advised they would arrive closer to the 7 p.m. timeframe. Called back at 7 p.m. and was advised the movers were backed up and it would not be until around 10 p.m. that evening. Worse movers ever...scheduled an early move they arrived an hour late...i moved half of my furniture the day before so they didn't have much to do...can I say the slowest movers and on top of that my expensive dresser has damaged now...they put items inside of the truck that had a trailer attached to it. Horrible customer service. Slowest movers I have ever had. After not showing up the first day we had them scheduled, we rescheduled for the next day at 4. I had to leave work early and they didn't show up until 630 then took 4 hours to pack up a 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment. They didn't move everything I had, so I'm still having to do 5 trips to get the rest of my stuff. I left the same time they did and it took them an extra 30 minutes to get to my new apartment. They didn't finish until 2 A.M. No discount or deal was given...they actually denied my complaints when I asked

Terrible service. They were 2 hours and 15 minutes late. I called when they were 15 minutes late to which the owner assured me that they were on their way and would be arriving any minute. They didn't even have the decency to give me a heads up that they would be running late. Had used 5 Star three times previous to my move yesterday. I guess their policies have changed, as I was very pleased the first three times. The workers arrived and rang the doorbell at 10:10 am. Upon arrival they asked to see all the things that were needing to be moved. That took about another five to ten minutes. They worked diligent and hard and cleared the house right at an hour.

The movers were punctual, polite and really hard working. They brought extra boxes at no cost - it meant I could hang all my clothes and make the move much easier. They were the least expensive movers I looked into and I was really pleased with them. I wasn't moving far, but my things did not get damaged -and they were quick.
