This really should be two different reviews, but this company doesn't deserve that, so here goes.
Move 1: We moved from LA to SD so I could attend school. The move went well, was very smooth, they told us they had to store the truck overnight for some reason, but otherwise, it was fine, and came in right around the quoted price. No issues.
Move 2: We moved back to LA from SD. Said they would be there between 8-9 and they arrived a little late, but not crazy late. They arrived with 3 guys, and 1 was out of shape and struggling. It took them about 6 hours to pack up our 2 bedroom apartment

Properly licensed (I checked with the DCA) and professional movers. Sean was very helpful explaining all the pricing over the phone and planning the move. On moving day the movers arrived on time and even called ahead to let us know that they were on the way. They wrapped all my furniture very well and nothing was damaged. I feel that the moving manager explained the moving contract very clearly and gave all the paperwork/information that the State requires. The movers also set up my furniture in my new apartment so I didn't have to try to push heavy furniture around after they left. I did have

Quality and Customer Service have left the room!!!Route 66 Moving moved me and my family 5 or so times over the years so I didn't even think about checking Yelp reviews before my daughter scheduled them for a move to Temecula this past Friday, which turned out to be mistake of epic proportions. They were to stop at my home at noon to pick up a couch then proceed to my daughter's for the main move. Noon comes and it goes...no movers, no contact. I called the company numerous times to attempt to schedule my move and was unable to ever get anyone on the phone, which should have been my tip off to look else where. However I had used Route 66 in the past many times (though not in the last 4-5 years) and had an excellent experience, so I ended up contacting Anton by email to book. We got everything set up and he confirmed my noon appointment. I've heard horror stories and even had some bad experiences with moving myself. Finding a reliable mover can be nerve-wracking. A friend recommended Route 66 Moving so I gave them a call. I spoke with Sean and he was very helpful. I got a quote from him and called around other places. He came way lower than the others so I figured something was wrong. I called back and asked him to do a virtual walk-through to make sure the quote was accurate. I didn't want to book it assuming I would pay significantly lower and end up with a small truck. My husband and I just bought our first home, and were so excited to move in. The only mistake we made was choosing this company. My husband scheduled weeks in advance, and even called a few days before our moving day to verify that we were all set. We talked Anton and he told us that we were good to go, and gave us a time frame of 8-9am. My husband waited 9:15, called the company and no one answered, and couldn't leave a voicemail.

While I did not personally use Route 66 for moving, this review is for their quote process and their professionalism. I contacted Route 66 for a quote from SF to LA, and found Sean to be extremely quick, responsible, and professional. He was very transparent about cost, labor, and how the company provides exceptional service. If I wasn't on such a tight budget (or if my company were covering relocation), I would've 100% chosen them. I hope to keep them in mind for the future, but would recommend considering them based on my positive experience with Sean!

I unfortunately was not able to use Route 66 moving since they were not affiliated with my job but I have to give a five start review because they were extremely professional and prompt. I have to give a special shout-out to Sean for easily accommodating my very restricted move in schedule with short notice. If my job wasn’t paying for my move I would have absolutely gone with Route 66.

Worked with Sean over at Route 66, he was great! I was under a time crunch and they got me from quote to moved in less than a week.
Movers were efficient, and careful. They worked in a pair and loaded up my house in less time than expected. Unload was done quickly, they even set up my bed into the new location.
5 stars from me, and I will use them again if ever needed.

The Good:
1. Anton in sales is super professional, polite and helpful. He was the best part of the experience.
2. They are flexible on changing move days. We had to change ours due to construction issues a couple times and they were very accommodating.
3. The 3 movers, especially the foreman mover was also very polite and professional in his manner. Everybody was nice and that made the process much easier to handle while things were going bad.
The Bad:
1. It was explained to me by the foreman that they were trying out a new guy who was his cousin. It was his cousin's first day ever moving

Do not hire this company. They will be the first to respond for your moving quote and direct you to their Yelp. Read all the negative reviews because they were right.
We were quoted 2 hours for the move at an hourly rate of $99/hour and a flat rate of $750 for the drive from LA to San Diego. I read the quote then called Antons to let him know we were on the second floor and not the first as the quote had noted. He replied that that wouldn't affected how long the move took.

I used Route 66 a year ago for my SF to SD move without any issues. They've since split their operations and I was told by my previous contact that they were not sure how the SD location operated, I booked them anyway.

I'll keep it short and sweet. Movers from this company didn't wrap any of my things to move, didn't wear mask (COVID-19), and didn't follow the directions and ended up moving unwanted stuff to my apartment from storage... They made a honest 2 hour job into 4-5 hour job. Laid my furniture on the concrete and 8,000 dollar mattress on the dirt floor with no protection... won't be using this company again and wouldn't suggest any one utilize this companies services.

I was quoted a $2,000 flat rate for the move of my 1bd/1ba apartment and was told by the sales agent, Tristan Ives, that the only way it would go north of that would be if I had a grand piano I wasn't telling him about. I don't have a grand piano and when the two movers arrived over 5 hours late to my apartment they said it was gonna be ~$6,000.

After I posted this scathing review, I got a call from Mike who again offered for me to file a claim for the damage for 60 cents a pound. I was irate. He said he would get back to me. He then did an internet search and decided that I could replace the lamp for $75 on Amazon (it is irreplaceable because they don't sell it at Pottery Barn anymore) and offered to pay $35 toward the replacement. I had to haggle with him. These are Russians, but I'm Asian so I don't just take what they say and I drive a hard bargain, so I haggled them to $50. I got a check 8 days later after I texted

These movers were hired to move my disabled sister. Due to arrive between 8-9, we were concerned when they arrived at 9:50.
The 2 movers worked very slowly. After 7 hours only boxes had been loaded into the truck, not any furniture, and the movers were ready to leave and demanded full payment from my sister.
My brother in-laws took pictures of the partial move and explained full payment would NOT be made. They negotiated to $500. And family unloaded the truck and moved all of the furniture.

An extremely interesting experience with these movers for a long distance move.
Starting with the positives:
1. The front office people are pretty nice. They're accommodating.
Negatives:
1. They broke a new $600 monitor that I recently got (likely dropped or thrown around based on the damage). Because I didn't pay for full insurance coverage, the coverage was only worth $6 based on the weight. The manager was very accommodating and gave an additional $100, which was awesome, but it's still very inconvenient and I still lost $500. I guess that's the law so meh...This was the

I had my stuff picked up in California to move to Chicago. It took about 3 weeks to deliver which was fine for me since this was moving to a storage unit.
However two large items were broken and chipped upon arrival. It was just a bit disheartening since these items were new.
I'd say the company is great about communicating and and getting items delivered, but not in good ahape
