These guys were not very careful with our stuff. A lot of our stuff ended up getting scratched, a couple of things broken. They also smashed a hallway light, and tried to pretend they didn't even though I saw it happen. They just kept moving stuff and tracking glass everywhere.
When we scheduled them on the phone, we were told that they would disassemble and reassemble larger stuff. They seemed reluctant to do so when they did the actual move, and did a pretty shoddy job of putting together some of the furniture, as it seems that they lost some of the little bits of hardware.

Golden Bay helped my boyfriend and I move out of our 1600 square foot 2 bedroom loft condo, and did a wonderful job. My mom came in from out of town to help pack, and only half of the packing was done when the movers arrived at 3pm on a Monday. They helped us tape boxes, and get everything out in only 4 hours! They were careful with my large fragile items, and my very heavy couch was no problem for them either. Their attitude was most exceptional though, all three of us (mom and boyfriend) were clearly stressed, but Arman told us with a big smile not to worry and we would get it done. With those

After my initial review, Golden Bay Movers got in contact with me and they were diligent about making things right. I'm truly impressed with the communication and attentiveness they have provided. It does not seem like bad experiences are a common occurrence for this company, and I really appreciated their willingness to give us a reimbursement for the original damage caused to our apartment building. I would consider using them again simply for the customer service.

Update - it had been 2 months since I wrote my review and I hadn't heard anything back from the company so I had written them off. However, one day I had Michael, their Claims Supervisor, contact me. He apologized for the horrendous experience I had and wanted to find a way to make things right. I told him that at the time of my move, I was expecting up to a 50% discount based on the horrible experience and incompetent movers. Not even a one star, this company gave me an appointment, took my deposit, and did NOT SHOW UP during their window, did not even call. This is horrendous and unprofessional, when they finally called back, they offered me 9pm on the following day, 9pm?! Who moves at 9pm? This is just god awful, and unreliable, unresponsive and complete lack of respect for the customers time and reliance on them.

I was going to write a review eventually, but with three young kids, covid, and two full time jobs, even two months later we are still trying to get settled. I also did not want to write a review in the heat of the moment. We just found out our refrigerator freezer hasn't been working since the move, so this couldn't wait anymore. I found the service untrustworthy and unprofessional.

Truly the worst experience I've ever had with movers. I had scheduled a 5 person crew and they showed up with 4 people. They were careless with our furniture, including throwing it over a railing and banging it down every single stair of a staircase. They packed live ant baits with kitchen items which caused ant poison to spill throughout the box. They dented a wine fridge, chipped a table, dented a sideboard, along with many other damaged goods. On top of that, they carelessly chipped/damaged every single stair of a 30-stair wooden staircase by banging dollies and furniture up and down it

Golden Bay did an excellent job helping me move apartments (within San Francisco). They were punctual (arrived early actually), efficient (done in 4-5 hours), and did an excellent job moving everything.
There was some small damage to my desk, from being strapped too tightly in the truck, but they took care of this issue immediately.
Highly recommend booking with them.

Crewed showed up with 2 movers instead of the 3 I hired. The change was allegedly because crew member had high temperature (covid times) but this was not communicated until they arrived which I found extremely unprofessional. In this circumstances, they should also plan to have backup crew given moves are very time sensitive (I had a 4 month old baby with us during the move)

Unbelievable. The movers were supposed to arrive Friday, July 3 2-5pm. I received a call at 4:12pm that they're running behind and will arrive 6:30-7:30pm. Not great but I can deal (they offered a $50 discount for the inconvenience). So I waited with all my stuff, packing up my bedding, food and everything. 8pm comes and still no communication.
