Nate was masked when he came to figure out what was wrong. I loved that he was willing to explain things to me. Andy (masked too) came out to replace the heater in the granny unit and fix the one in mine. He too explained things and was a sweetheart. He did have to come back because the first repair didn't address the whole problem, but they didn't charge me more. The one complaint I have is that it took them so long in the middle of a stormy winter to get me scheduled. I did, though, call a couple of other places and it was going to take them equally long. Just bad timing, I guess

Our heater stopped working during a cold, stormy week. California Heating was able to quickly get us on their schedule. The technician arrived promptly, quickly determined and fixed the problem. He was friendly, knowledgeable and explained the issue to me. I also appreciated that he arrived masked and practiced social distancing. I'm very grateful and would definitely contact them again for future heating repairs.

We were told by another company that our heater was shot and that we needed a new one. After half of the winter using space heaters we decided to finally call California Heating since they were recommended by a friend. They came in and within 5 minutes they figured out what the problem was & came back a few days and we now have full heat!! Very grateful!

Everyone I have talked to with this company are very friendly. The technicians are respectful and personable. They are highly skilled and stay busy until it's done regardless of how long it takes. California Heating in Arcata is Awesome!!! Had them install a heat pump system in January of this year. I have now finished a Winter, gone through Summer and here we are in Fall and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Work done was in a very timely manner and efficient!!! I was so impressed with the heat pump system that I also had them install new metal Gutters on the house... Just as satisfied with that job as the prior work.

I live in Colo. Own home in Ca. which my manager arranged to have work done . Work was done in okay fashion-pretty expensive.
My problem is they will not send me the bill nor even confirm amount as they have sent that info to my manager. I have called Them to make payment-they wont even confirm amount!!!!
They continue to bill my manager. My manager did email me the bill but I want confirmation on how much is due. So today I call again for 3rd time and their phones are down!!!!
I'm VERY frustrated as I do NOT want my managers credit to be affected. They said they'd get "permission

They waited 2 weeks to call back after diagnosing a problem. When we finally scheduled the follow-up appointment, the made a mistake about the time and then denied that they had made the mistake. We had to wait another 8 days without heat before they were finally able to come. Their internal communication is poor and they are rude to their customers.

Heater went out in a rental in Arcata and the repairman came out, never called to tell me what was wrong or okay the work - but the company didn't hesitate to send me a bill for $298 and now a month later, the furnace has stopped working again. I feel there wasn't good communication and am disappointed with the work done.

I just had a new heater installed and have called this company for all my heater repairs for over ten years now. They are hands down the best option in this county. I trust them 100% and their employees are competent, reasonable and just plain honest, good people....there were a few times the office lady was super rude to me but that is no longer a problem. I have always used them because they are the most reasonable and trustworthy. I had another larger Eureka company estimate the same job, they lied about the extent of the job and padded the estimate. California heating is the best choice

It took them over 8 weeks to "fix" our heater and they never actually fixed it. They did however, make sure I received their $900 dollar bill. For what? They were't even able to get it running. I don't think they have any clue what they are doing!
We were able to get a competant company out to our house that identified the real problem in less then 5 min and fixed it the same day and only charged us $170 to fix our heater and it has been working since.
They offered nothing but poor customer service and communication.

I have had three substantial jobs performed by California Heating, and have been positively impressed with their technical know-how and customer service each time. We had a major rebuilding of our heater venting system in the roof, a complex repair of an old furnace that added several years to its functioning for us, and just completed the tricky furnace replacement into a very tight compartment. The owner, service staff and office administrator all communicate and problem-solve very well. My impression has consistently been that their focus is on my satisfaction as a customer. Heater broke down last winter and after waiting weeks to get the new part it was finally installed for about $400 total. then, few months later it breaks AGAIN! another $70 bucks to fix. few months later (now) and it breaks again. This time a friend checked it out for us. The fan was completely deteriorated. There's no way this happened this quickly, why CA Heating didn't notice this the handful of times they've been here, I don't know! COMPLETELY RIPPED US OFF AND LEFT US WITH A STILL BROKEN HEATER!
