Established in 2005, the idea for Rob the Mover was born as Rob drove an old beat up pickup truck into Ground Zero. Working for a non-profit, he delivered loads of gloves, boots, masks and food to workers in the zone. When the operation ended, Rob gave the truck to a police officer. But when gas prices started to rise in 2005, the officer decided the truck was too much of an expense.
Check with your buildings to make sure you understand the move-out and move-in procedure, if they need the movers to provide a Certificate of Insurance, schedule the elevator, use floor covering, etc. Make sure your mover understands these policies. Also check the parking around your building and start paying attention to how easy or difficult it is to park a truck near the entrance to your building or the service entrance.

.They were great salesmen but terrible movers. They lost two of my boxes one having 45 shoes and personal pictures. How do you lose a 4 by 3 foot large box. My wooden furniture arrived chipped and scratched. My couch dirty and my box spring dirty. Plastic boxes totally broken. The guys say you can clean it, it was heavy, it happens. Sorry it took them 3.5 weeks to get form Long Island to Florida. No responsibility on my lost boxes. I have pictures of them standing on my furniture, moving my boxes into their truck by they have no idea what happened to them. How heart broken I am. ANd they just move

This company has recently been purchased by Northeastern Movers. While the rate was higher than budgeted, Eddie scheduled my local move-in on the first of the month, with a tight deadline and strict building requirements. The guys were a little late because of traffic but worked extra hard to complete the job on time. They were very efficient, respectful and experienced. No breakage and minor wear/tear on items. The office staff offered great communication when scheduling and getting all of the paperwork and insurance in order, and in the day after follow-up.

Great experience. They showed up on time, wore masks and followed all the necessary COViD precautions. The crew chief was well organized abs it was clear that he had trained his crew well. The movers were all employees (not contractors) and, based on the efficiency of their work, have been working together as a team for quite a while. The final coat of the job was only 20% above the estimate, which was pretty good, considering that I had underestimated the amount of stuff I had. Rob The Mover did an incredible job. Arrived on time, carefully packed everything with cardboard and shrink wrap. I've literally never seen a company so careful with how they packed and organized. They stayed in contact with me so I always knew their ETA and stayed well within the slated packing time. I would use this moving company again.

We hired Rob The Mover to move our belongings because when we asked around most people advised us to hire them. They were simply brilliant. The team was very well trained and they knew exactly how to pack valuable things. The men worked tirelessly packing up every object we own. They were done with the packing and loading really quickly. I was quite satisfied with their efficiency. They made the delivery on time and none of our stuffs were broken or damaged and no boxes went missing. In future, I plan to use their services again.

This is the worst moving experience I have ever had. Unfortunately, this previously family-owned business has been taken over by Northeastern, and they are all about sales. The process of setting up the move was easy with quick follow up, and the estimate was about half compared to others movers for a state-to-state move. The salesman discouraged me from getting insurance, stating it barely covers anything anyway, which might have warned me off if I could have afforded a standard mover.

Fast and efficient. It was a bit more expensive than I wanted, but they were upfront about all the charges and I didn't have to pull teeth to get the ultimate cost (other places did not include taxes and tolls in their estimates and wanted to upcharge for basic things). The move itself was very fast and the movers were friendly. All in all, it was pretty reasonable and I would recommend this service

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON RUINED FURNITURE! These guys were friendly enough, yet their masks were on and off throughout the move. I put a lot of trust in these guys, after all, the reviews were good enough, and I paid almost 1K for their services... unfortunately they damaged two priceless family heirloom mid century modern pieces of mine. That said, the company is trying to rectify the situation... but this furniture means a lot to me, and it is vintage and irreplaceable. So upsetting, find movers that CARE

When I started looking for movers my friend recommended Rob The Mover. I requested a quote through their website and within 24 hours by their rep called and we scheduled a move for the following week. Amazing moving company. Showed up exactly on time and moved our furniture very carefully. The movers were very courteous, careful and put together the furniture. Everything was safe at arrival, even the glass in the picture frames. The movers took all the stress out of our move and they were very reasonably priced. They are efficient and cheerful. One of the movers, Dave, showed an unusual interest in my expensive BowFlex dumbbells and was, overall, a very sketchy guy. When he put them in the truck, I remember thinking he put them in an unusual place - they were designed not to roll so that was not a consideration. We'll see how the move goes . . . but in the days of coronavirus, I've been orchestrating a move from Jersey City to Washington, DC. Many estimates, and a great real estate agent who's provided virtual tours of my place to the final 4 movers. Rob the Mover / Northeastern was great with follow up. Eric Lucci is on his sales game. I had scheduled a move for Sunday but the movers from Rob the Mover still accidentally came on Saturday very early morning instead, likely due to an error on the part of my contact in sales. The moving team rang my phone and the doorbell multiple times, waking me up annoyingly early on Saturday due to their error.

I got quotes from three other companies for my move. Finally I settled on hiring Rob The Mover simply because they had the lowest quote. But they gave me amazing services for that little bill. They really employ the most capable movers. The four men I got were all very well trained and had enough experience to conduct this move. Their packing skills were good and they had no trouble loading everything to the truck. The best thing about them was their timing. They arrived on time and made the delivery on time as well. I don't think any other company can match the quality of their services.

Move was $200 over the quote.
Careless. Dumped all the boxes in my apartment in a way that made no sense (boxes labeled kitchen chucked in walk-in closet, boxes labeled clothes thrown in kitchen). I opened the box that had my carefully wrapped plates and every since plate was broken.

3 movers is a joke - there was one guy that carried most of everything, another person almost on par with him and the last person was clueless, scrawny, carried only the lightest items (one of which he broke) and seemed to just be there to fill the quota of 3 people. Not what I asked for!
