I used Scanio to move from NJ to Manhattan in mid August. My first call with them was straightforward - we scheduled a video call walkthrough of all the things I'll be moving, things I would need disassembled, clothes for their wardrobe boxes, etc.
After accepting the quote (Just short of $2.5k, estimated mostly by the # of floors they had to climb) and putting a down payment of $200, we got everything confirmed / got the certificate of insurance worked out.

Scanio is fantastic! I have moved four times over the last ten years, and each time, I have used Scanio. We have had a variety of their crews and several different foremen, and they are uniformly professional, reliable, respectful and upfront. Nir and his team give realistic estimates based on my property, and don't surprise me with hidden/upcharges on moving day. They have never broken an item, and I've always ended moving day with a smile on my face pleased with how smooth the process went. I'm not sure how many people can say that!

From the amazing help I received with estimates and cost from Nir, to the professionalism and efficiency shown by Colin and crew during the packing and moving of my things, they hands down blew me away with the whole experience. Our dear friend recommended this company to us for our cross-country move (from NYC to LA).
We called them 6 weeks prior to our moving date (we didn’t even have a place yet in LA), but Idan was very helpful in telling us what to do and how to prepare for the move. He suggested a time closer to our estimated moving date to talk again but he ensured us that they’ll be able to help us even though we wanted to move at a busy time: in the middle of July.
When I talked to them next time, I sent them a video about our packed apartment, they made an estimate for us which ended up only a $100 more

Our foreman was Jay. His team arrived on time. They were perfectly professional with all items we asked them to pack. And we were moving to a loft with stairs. Some items were hard to maneuver. They were ingenious to devise plans to move the items to the designated places.

This is an update after using them to move my office. Again, a great group to work with. They came on time, handled our furniture and computers (lots of those) carefully, brought everything to the new space and set it all up. It ended up taking less time than the estimate so we actually paid less than expected. Again, they made the move as painless as possible. Thanks guys!

I have worked with Scanio through my job before and recommended them to family and they have always done an excellent job! Currently going through a long distance move and unfortunately due to budgets and distance I could not use them, but I still have nothing but great things to say! When my original moving company bailed I called Scanio and spoke with Tony who was the nicest. We spoke for probably 20 minutes and even when he knew he probably wouldn't be getting my business he advised me on the best ways to handle a long distance move and gave me GREAT advice. Seriously a KIND person!

In connection with a move, I donated my library, built up over 60 years, to Brooklyn College. Ricardo James and his crew came, packed up the books (254 boxes!), and transported them to BC. Their work was timely, efficient, careful and discreet. We got along splendidly and I signaled my satisfaction with a 20% tip to the crew. If I ever have to do this again - God help me! - Scanio will be my first call (actually I found them through In Order To Succeed, who essentially managed the move, and I triple-highly recommend them).

Scanio Movers are the best out there. I've used them several times for complicated moves and also storage services. Each move has went smoothly and without issue. Moving can be a difficult time for us all and can be very stressful. Scanio certainly alleviates any worries. They are flexible and understanding. The crew arrived on time, our estimator (Anthony) was on site to get them started, they were all in uniform and worked as a very efficient team. Herbert was the crew leader and he was cheerful and professional, and got the job done ahead of schedule. They even moved a very large, very heavy, server cabinet down a flight of stairs seamlessly. Highly recommend this company - and in particular Herbert's crew!

I have used Scanio 3 times and each time they have been fantastic and very easy to work with. They are pro's and make moving as painless as possible. The moves were all done well under the amount of time expected and they helped set up all the furniture in the apartment and help me unpack some boxes. A pleasure to work with and highly recommended. The owner, Nir is a great guy and will treat you like family. Very customer focused.

Worst experience! At first Yohai was great at customer service & quick at quotes etc. I had to move out of my place & wasn't sure I was staying in NYC so I opted for their storage. Once I settled on moving back to LA, I then discovered they use a "partner" to moves outside of the try state area. I purchased additional insurance as recommended for first move, storage & then final move. When my things finally arrived in la, most of my furniture & framed pieces were damaged. I actually tried to ask the movers to be more careful & they were flat out rude & said

Really the worst moving experience EVER!! "SCAMio" is right ... Nightmare!!
I was moving only 3 blocks on the Upper West Side. Loading took 2 hours longer than they had estimated. When I mentioned this to them, they HELD MY STUFF HOSTAGE, and asked me to PAY UP RIGHT THEN. After an hour of arguing, calling the company multiple times, I finally had to run to an ATM, and pay them the entire amount in cash which was WAY over the estimate. And yes, I had to pay for the time that we were arguing as well :).
Writing this review has been cathartic - I hope it helps reduce the nightmares from

I would not use Scanio again. They chipped a custom made coffee table and even though I filled out appropriate paperwork, they never addressed it. I used them for storage and moving. And they chipped another marble coffee table. The moving super was aggressive and when I asked him, if I could buy him and the crew lunch, He said, No I will just take the money.
They also lost a few boxes and when I attempted to review the inventory at the end of the move, I was told, he had to hurry to pick up his child.
I was not happy.

This has been the best moving experience I've had in the 7 years I've lived in Manhattan. Yohai was great at coordinating everything and John, the gentleman managing the movers, was very competent and experienced. Of course, there were some snags along the way, and moving is ALWAYS a stressful process, but I felt that the additional money over some of the cheaper, flat rate movers was well worth it. They also have very reasonable storage prices - we currently have our things in storage as we were changing the floors in our apartment. I'll update the review once we receive our things

I'm still very traumatized by my recent cross country move. After getting estimates from several moving company I chose Scanio movers even though their price was a little more than the other movers. I thought by choosing a small company my move would go much smoother. They proved me so wrong. My things got delivered to me way after the date I had asked them to deliver. Then for three days they kept changing the date to the next day and when my stuff arrived their condition was so bad that I was horrified. Many items were broken and after I unpacked everything I realized that I'm missing
