Movers can be a nightmare, and it's hard to get a good mover recommendation. So, take it from me: Go with Better Move. Professional, reliable, and half the price of other quotes we got. The sales office is experienced and have a great can-do attitude. The crew we got on our two moves (Patrick, Richie, and the guys) showed up early, were flexible, worked quickly, and were great to work with. Just pack some cash, because you will really be happy to tip these guys well when the day is done.

As a young single woman sometimes hiring things like moving companies can be a little nerve racking. However Patrick and his team were nothing but professional and even comforting during this very hectic day. I was having problems with my super about moving out there is no way I would of been able to handle this on my own. Hopefully I wont be moving for a long time but if I do I know who I will call. Thanks, Better Move for making the move into my new apartment bearable and sucessful.

I just used Better Move last week for a third time. As for this recent move, I was moving from Manhattan to Brooklyn. I was moving from a studio to a one bedroom. I wasn't able to finalize my new location until two weeks before the move. Despite the move occurring in the midst of the busy season, Zvi was accommodating as possible up until the last minute. He was able to squeeze me into a highly busy morning slot. His crew was on time, extremely professional and efficient. I did most of the packing but there was some packing that Better Move had to do. None of my items were broken or damaged

After receiving an email estimate from Eugene G. for three hours of work, Eugene refused to respond to our query of when we could book the start time for our move. Zvi M. spoke with us over the phone and increased the price by about $200, accusing us of not understanding the estimate. Zvi claimed we did not provide a list of items to be moved (even though we did) and claimed the estimate we were initially given was a "minimum" - despite that we have written confirmation it was an "estimate."
He also said New York Law mandates that moving

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I never post reviews but this situation was too awful not to share. I want to save someone else the trouble that I had to deal with. I paid to keep several of my items in storage with them for years and when I finally got them out I found them to be terribly damaged! When I tried to speak to someone about the damage they gave me the run around and would not let me speak to someone in customer service. When someone from customer service finally called me they were extremely rude. Please save yourself the trouble and do NOT use this company.

Better Move is The Best! From 1st spec of our items, to patiently waiting our go forward, to most important the pack and the move/unpack. A+ to Eugene (booking agent) Brixton (lead mover) & Eddie, Joe & Eric packers/movers. They were so patient, professional, careful & extra friendly/happy to be around! We moved out of NYC to RI and even switched out items in our home for storage. Best quote out of 3 & their job was better than my expectations! Choose Better Move!

I'm just going to state the facts and avoid color commentary. They marked up my walls and put a bad scratch in my floor that is about 12" long. They were more concerned with time than being careful. Oh, and they won't do anything about it.. And this was a referral from a broker who's company uses them often! Sooooo, I guess the lucky people above me didn't have their apartment damaged by them. I'm sure you can find someone else.

I just experienced my third move (this year!) with Better Move. I found them very efficient to book and responsive to last-minute alterations in my plans. I had to make changes to the delivery location and then ended up needing to have my things put in storage for a few months. They were very accommodating on all counts. Their rates seem pretty standard for a licensed and insured moving company. The owner and crews were professional, respectful and hard working. I highly recommend this business and plan to use them for future moves.

I moved on a hot and sticky day of july in Manhattan. These guys showed heart and determination as I have rarely seen.
We are french people that happens to move a lot from countries to countries and our belongings are very important to us as they are the only things that remains with us through our moves. So I am always worried to put all of it in someone else's hands.
Our furnitures are big, heavy and expensive ( king size bed, solid wood large dining table, huge bookshelves,...) and we have a tons of clothes and kitchen stuff. They walked up 2 flights of narrow stairs on a 100 degrees

My best move experience yet in NY. AL's crew was punctual, thoughtful, so pleasant to be around and really good at moving! They emptied my apartment so quick and moved right onto the next apartment. My move was for 3 stops (my place, my new roommates place and the our new place together) and they seemed like it was nothing. A smile never left their faces and they even helped us decide how to lay out our furniture when we were stuck. Moved us into a 5th floor walkup with ease. My quote was accurate and they took great care to ensure they stuck to that amount. I will absolutely recommend them

I am a real estate agent in NYC and my company has been working with Better Move for several years now. When they actually came the move was fast, however I would not use them again. They were not communicative and had very poor scheduling.
I was moving from Spanish Harlem to Crown Heights. 6th floor walkup to a 4th floor walkup. I got a quote for a flat rate consistent with other movers. I used them because a friend had a good experience.
The confirmation email said I would be called two days prior to my move (which was a Monday) to confirm everything. They never called on Saturday. I called them myself on Sunday, they confirmed it was still happening and said I would receive a call mid-day to

I just hired Better Move for a second move and had a great experience (obviously my first experience was excellent, or I would not have called them back). The process was easy from the beginning (booking the move, getting a [very fair] estimate) to the middle (helping me pack things I was unable to pack on my own, very very nice workers, quick and efficient), to the end (two of three elevators in my new building were out...you can imagine how frustrating that was to everyone involved, but you wouldn't know it from listening to the guys that did my move). It was a smooth day, no issues whatsoever

I can't fathom the poor reviews below. I had nothing but a positive experience with Better Move.
I moved from the UES to Washington Heights in mid-March and used Better Move after seeing a Living Social deal for a free hour of moving. The movers were running late and called me to let me know, which most places won't do. They emptied my apartment in what felt like 5 minutes, working as quickly and efficiently as possible. All of my furniture was in pristine condition after the move and they didn't even complain (at least out loud) about my moving into a fifth floor walk-up. The movers

Don't use these guys for a cross country move.
After showing up 3 days late...
They told me that they would let me know in advance if the hill I lived on was too steep for the moving truck in which case a smaller truck would be necessary along with a $150 charge. They didn't mention anything to me so the driver shows up with an 18 wheeler and refuses to drive up the hill. He says that he is one ticket away from having his license suspended and doesn't want to take the risk (what does that say about the driver? And the company who hired him?). Finally the 18 wheeler makes it up
