Bay Area Express moving is likely running a scam, are extremely incompetent, or both. I contracted with them to move the contents of a UHAUL shipping container from California to Michigan. They lost my shipment somewhere in the US, tried to deliver items from a different shipment, found my shipment, made final delivery nearly two months after the original pickup of my items, and now it is apparent the there are more than few high value boxes missing. The responses I received from the owner Tony Diaz were sporadic and only after the most incessant badgering for information. The insurance is a joke

Disaster!!!!!! I so regret not researching this company more before using them for our move from Fresno to Phoenix. It ended being arguably the worst experience of my life as a good portion of our household items were either damaged, destroyed or lost. Some of the items such as my military memorabilia, kids pictures and school work from 30 years ago, all of my college work, family heirlooms, etc. can never be replaced. Although we did receive our appliances, they were so damaged and battered that we’ll eventually have to replace them.

I would rate this company 0 stars if that was an option. They have failed to deliver all of our belongings and now can't find where they went. In addition to losing over 50 boxes of our belongings, they now won't even answer the phone or return calls. Incredibly unprofessional.

Worst move ever (out of 15 over the last 45 years). First I was given a lowball estimate. Then after loading the truck they tried to more than triple it, incl a charge of over $600 for tape, boxes and plastic wrap that was totally unnecessary. When they delivered it, everything that was labeled “fragile” was smashed up. Clearly deliberate. Use these clowns at your own risk. You’ve been warned.

Please DO NOT hire these people, they are complete scam artists and should not be in business. My review is consistent with everything I am reading on here - I wish I had checked google before hiring them, they were recommended on a Berkeley parent chat board for cross country moves. Top issues similar to everyone else:
1. Very hard to communicate after you pay your deposit. They rarely answer the phone, don't respond to texts or emails. Never even got advanced confirmation for my moving day until one hour before they showed up.

If I could rate zero stars I would. Inaccurate quotes (bait & switch) with an itemized listing of what would be transported, unprofessional crew showed up drunk (smell of beer which later confirmed why) 2 hours outside of a pick-up window between 12pm - 4pm (arrived at 6pm), and did not realize my wife speaks Spanish fluently we listened to the crew laugh and say they weren't doing the job.
The lead claims his manager told him to cancel the job, the day before my family relocated to Texas, and after we asked him to call the manager so we could receive an explanation, he proceeds to walk outside

Positive Experience ! I really had a positive experience with Bay Area Express Moving recently. They gave me a good deal and moved me like a king to Miami FL ! The moving team came on time and packed everything up very quickly. All the glassware, fragile items and expensive items were nicely packed and moved. The furniture were also nicely carried and moved. Not a single dent and not a single damage! I really loved how everything was returned back to me in once piece. My experience was great! I highly recommend this moving company to all!

Summary: Horrible "Full Service" experience! Up charged 2x, non-responsive in between the move with poor planning/transparency, damage/missing items upon receipt, left my place a mess on move in, and non-responsive after the move for the claims. You can check out Yelp to see more similar customer reviews. The only nice thing was they had 30 days of free storage.

We have signed a contract with Bay Area Express Moving, and as per the terms we have paid 1/3 of the cost based on the quoted amount.
The quote was provided by their reservation manager after multiple discussions over the phone on the exact quantity of boxes (dimensions and weight of each box, along with total weight taken into consideration).
On the pick-up date, the truck arrived with staff, however, after looking at the boxes he said the move cannot be done with the previously agreed-upon amount. He then proceeded to give a new bill with almost double the cost compared to the previously agreed
