They were timely and efficient and portrayed an "all work - no play" attitude throughout the duration of their services; and yet still had a friendly welcome. I moved to a third floor apartment in an old house with a very narrow staircase and none of my furniture was damaged in the move. I would also like to include the profound efforts on their part in handling the horrible weather conditions we encountered.

We chose Spartan based on their reviews and a recommendation even though they are more expensive than some of the competition. The move itself was OK. The movers were professional, efficient, and handled things with care. Most everything made its way to our new apartment without damage, although one large item wasn't properly reconfigured. Our primary issue is after the move, we realized our Peloton weights were missing. We called Spartan and they confirmed that they were in the warehouse and would ship them back, but they were never returned. Worst, I have called numerous times, left messages

I have moved five times in SF in the past ten years and every time I've used Spartan. They are friendly , fair, honest, and well-priced. My last move was fairly sudden so they helped my pack too and nothing broke. They work incredibly hard and I've never been so grateful. These guys are simply the very best!!!!

One of the smoothest moves I've ever had! They arrived 15 minutes before the 2-hour window and were able to finish everything very quickly. Big thanks to Julio and team, and Ashish who coordinated the move and got the insurance for both HOAs resolved. Would definitely recommend!
A reminder for people moving, they don't move plants for obvious reasons, so move them yourself. Also, make sure you take care of the sfmta permit reservation if you need one in advance.

Held our items for 3 months past the promised delivery date. Admitted they violated the contract. Did not respond to numerous emails and phone calls. The owner finally admitted he didn’t have a driver. When we wanted to arrange for a different company to pick up our items, as Spartan agreed to, they wouldn’t tell us where our items were. When we finally got our items, numerous things were broken and missing. They also delivered someone else’s items and were not any help to return the items to the rightful owner. I found that family (thanks to social media) and we arranged between ourselves

UPDATE: we attempted to reason with owner about getting some money back for the services not performed even though we paid for them and were part of contract. He (David K.) took no responsibility for anything, refused to refund any money, and just pushed us to submit a claim form to seek resolution. After this, we double-confirmed with him his insurance only covered damage and not non-performance of services so he caught in yet another deception for pushing us to file a claim doomed to fail before

This is the second time we have used Spartan and they were amazing. The guys are hard workers, came on time with all the materials they needed like tape and blankets and worked hard the entire time. They took great care packing everything up and fully moved us out of our rental and into our new place without any issues. Everything was placed where we wanted, nothing was damaged, and all of our beds, tables, etc reassembled perfectly. Highly recommend them for any move

We booked Spartan Moving a month before moving out of the Bay Area.
Communication: Excellent and very timely. All logistics were explained well, all questions answered, and confirmation email was very thorough.
Moving: We received a call 30 minute prior to their arrival. They arrived early at 8am which worked very well for us. They wrapped our furniture carefully to ensure no damage. The movers were very nice and communicated with us throughout.
Rate: For the service we received, the rate was very competitive.
Overall: We were happy with Spartan Moving and have recommended them to our family

We hired Spartan to move our furniture and belongings from one side of Cambrian to another. On moving day, a team of 3 showed up right on time and quickly emptied out our 3 bedroom house. I noticed they were very careful with handling our stuff, making sure each piece was safely wrapped. They also provided wardrobe boxes for me the shove all my clothes in to transport to my new home. When we arrived at our new home shortly after, the Spartan team were very careful not to damage our newly painted walls and refinished hardwood floors. I found Spartan online during our first move from condo in SF to the peninsula. I just re-hired them to do our move in Millbrae.
They're very prompt, patient and easy to work with. They're also very honest and discuss with you all the possible additional charges before they start the project so you can anticipate your final bill.
At the end of the move they itemize all the charges very clearly.
I don't think I'll be moving again but if I do, I'll definitely hire them the third time!

I have used Spartan Moving Systems about 4 times to move from different areas in Bay Area(San Bruno, SF, Dublin, and Fremont). I have nothing but great experiences with them and that has kept me coming back to them for my moving needs. They are efficient, punctual, and responsive to your requests. In my new place, I had asked them to wear booties and they stuck to my request and managed the move. I have had experience in the past where a moving company would refuse to do so. They carried a heavy sofa through the stairs as the elevator was not tall enough. Most times, they have finished the move

Very hard workers and best price around! We found out the people we bought our house from also used Spartan and my sister who moved last year used them as well!! All were happy with their service.

Spartan movers was a great choice for me. With movers, you get what you pay for. While they may not be the lowest rate on the market, the prices are extremely competitive for the quality of service provided. I had a team of three for my move and it was perfect. They were very careful with all delicate items, and took the time to properly secure everything. They put on additional protection above and beyond what I had done myself. The truck was very clean. They were solid, considerate, thorough and swift, and made every effort to carry personal items, boxes, bookcases and desks. When there was any obstacle or issue, they were transparent in disclosure and showed thoughtfulness and experience with solutions. In rush-hour afternoon traffic, they managed to get to our new place ahead of us by at least ten minutes. In short, they made our build-up and stress in packing and preparation evaporate into thin air, and if we have to move anytime soon, they'll be on speed dial.

This review is a little past due but I hired spartan moving company for my move from an apt to a home and I will never not use them again for any kind of move.
From the first communication, they were friendly and professional. It was my first time using a moving company so I was nervous. They showed up and they were incredibly professional, friendly, fast and efficient.
Before I knew it they had everything moved, furniture put together and ready to go.
Hiring Spartan was the best decision I have ever made. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for movers.

Umberto and Moises (the guys who led each of our recent moves) are absolutely fantastic! Worth every penny. As were the other movers...Eric, Alex, I don't remember the other guys names, but they were all great. So nice, so friendly, so hard working - and, in both moves, they finished way faster than we would have guessed.

Total to move from a one bed apartment to another was around $750. It is about a 27 mile distance between the apartments and they charge for the time they drive x 2 on top of their "flat rate fee". Last year I moved and it was only $550. This move was wayyy too expensive. There were so many things wrong with the move too. One of their guys flipped a box over and oil spilled everywhere and they didn't offer to clean it up. I specifically told them to bring my trash can and they didn't. They actually forgot to load SEVERAL things and I had to go back to get them. The crew of 4

Julio and his team were excellent! They paid special attention to wearing shoe covers when walking on my new carpets and were particularly resourceful at assembling my office desk.

Moises, Juan, and Jose showed up on time, were respectful, and moved everything with care. They were not slow, but they were not moving with urgency either. I'm not sure if this is common practice, but I was a little taken aback that they took their time folding, cleaning up, and organizing their moving materials before they even unloaded all of my boxes. At some points, I was literally standing there watching them pack up. Also, one of the three movers took on a more "supervisory" role and did minimal work, so it was more like having 2.5 movers.

When researching moving companies I was already very impressed with Spartan Moving Company's professionalism and friendliness over the phone. They gave me a rough estimate of the cost based on the square footage of my home and how many rooms I had. When moving day came they arrived on time and were very detail oriented with everything they took inventory of while loading the truck. Everything was protected and the wardrobe boxes they provided complimentary were a lifesaver!! They also made sure to point out if anything was already damaged which was thoughtful.

Movers during pickup were great. They were fast, professional, and wrapped things well.
The company transfers the stuff from the truck to a warehouse, then packs up 10+ moves into a semi. Somewhere between our house and the destination some things got broken and squished. (See photos). Cost was about 5500 for cross country move.

1.) Felix told me 3-4 movers would be there on move day. Only two men showed up. What would have taken 3-4 hours took much longer as a result. Not okay. Don't show up with 1/2 to 2/3ds of the crew you quote people for.
2.) the company moved our stuff into storage. When they got to the storage unit they piled all the boxes in completely haphazardly with no thought as to providing a path to access the boxes. They were just crammed in.
3.) now that we have moved stuff

The load in was quite chaotic. I would have preferred a little pre-visit to advise us better as how to prepare for the big day.
The 4 men were under considerable stress on a Sunday and everything went rather rushed - we still have not found some items.
I do NOT blame the employees at all for any of this.
The load out was from a large van with a tractor rig pulling it whereas the load in was into a Budget truck which they later said had "broken down" somewhere on I-5 I guess.

We had a terrific moving experience with Moises, Jose, and Camilo who helped us move from a 3rd floor 3BR to a 6th floor 2BR within San Francisco. Specifically, they were champs who went above and beyond, as our building's elevator was broken the day of our move - and they still moved everything within 7.5 hours.
Not a single dish, cup, or screen was broken - they were flexible, customer service oriented, and cheerful through the process. They also broke down and re-built a king size bed, computer desk, and entertainment center for us.
My only advice for the team is to double check the moving

I went through a very lengthy process on my damage claim (which I had reviewed previously) and after the company lied to me about what was covered -- when the damage happened, they said an insurance company "would take care of it" only to find out (which by the way took forever to get in touch with the company) that they do not cover damage that's created inside the home.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HOUSE.
After significant back and forth, Spartan Moving company would give me a $350 reimbursement when my damages were in the thousands. I was shocked about them
