Other design professionals are usually desired (or required) to complete a custom residence. The professionals included here are often part of the design team but are not usually included in the scope of our services. We can provide options for professionals based on scope and style of the project, or we are happy to work with professionals already familiar to the client.

INTERIOR DESIGNER- designer responsibilities generally include selections of interior colors, finishes including tile/stone/ wood flooring, all bathroom finishes, closet design, decorative fixtures, soft goods, furniture, hardware, and countertops. Designer input is considered in other architect designed millwork and casegoods.

The interior designer is an integral part of the team on most of our projects, however, if the desire is for interior and/ or exterior architecture to be driven by primarily the designer, a different architect is likely a better choice for the project. On occasion, we work with 'owner as interior designer'.
Services
Additional drawings or specifications are usually required to complete a custom residence. These vary by location and are usually not included within the scope of our services. However we do coordinate closely with other design professionals if they are required. Please see 'TEAM' in this narrative for more details regarding information that may be required but not usually included in our scope.
Our firm is primarily focused on a creative process that yields a finished residence capturing the client's personal vision, which is never a 'monument' to the architect. In our opinion, a custom residence is the most personal of architectural genres and is therefore the most interesting, challenging, and exciting opportunity available to a designer.
Harrell & Co Architects (HCO) was founded in 1995 by principal and sole design architect A. Jeffrey Harrell. The current staff includes Mr. Harrell, one field coordinator/ project manager, and two skilled CAD technicians. All staff is trained in the HCO office and each employee has been with our firm for many years.
An initial meeting occurs between Jeff Harrell and a potential client to discuss compatibility and expectations for the project. If the commission is secured, a design discussion ensues. The client often provides photos, magazine clipping, and notes to assist in conveying their vision.
Harrell & Company projects have been included in numerous design related publications including, but not limited to, Traditional Home, Mountain Living, Florida Design, and Florida Architecture; occurring over the entire span of firm existence. While we appreciate the exposure and consider nearly every project print worthy, we do not seek or pay for this exposure.
