I absolutely hate moving! So what do I do? I go to Yelp for reviews for a decent moving service in West Seattle. Came across Alto moving. Spoke with someone on the phone, gave them all the details of the move and got an estimate for it. Was confirmed with an appointment via email. What happened on moving day I wouldn't want anyone else to go through. They 100% no showed! Ignored all my calls to confirm they were on the way and never did they ever reach out to apologize or explain the reasoning for not showing up on moving day or even answering my calls to find out where they were or what happened

I used Alto Moving for my local move from West Seattle to Burien, WA. When I made the the appointment, I asked about a walk through before the move as I also needed packing services. The co-owner, Selena, stated that it was not necessary as she could give an estimate based on the number of rooms and amount of furniture/appliances. The movers showed up not prepared for the job. They came with a small truck, not enough boxes or packaging material. The owner, John, had to go to Penske to get a bigger truck and was gone for over an hour. Poor quality and value. Misleading services. Not a real company in my opinion, but hired and probably underpaid contractors. Therefore, not trained in anyway. I was promised in my email and text communication that this was a very organized and knowledgeable moving company. The facts - my apartment was not packed as was promised and offered. They brought some saran wrap for one dresser and the owner John, brought a pack of small boxes about halfway into my move. I was told that they knew how to pack and move a large record collection, they were moved one stack at a time, unboxed and left in piles

The day of the move, the crew showed up four hours later than scheduled with a surprise additional person that I was then asked to pay extra per hour for. Since we were so behind schedule, I figured that would be okay to get us through the move faster. However, at final billing I was charged for a full additional hour and told I had to pay by check. When I realized the mistake, i contacted John same day and asked for a refund for the hour to no response. I've followed up 2 times now and he still has not responded almost two months later.

Had a terrific experience with John and his crew. They showed up on time and were very good and easy to work with. It was a 3 bedroom move with a lot of extra stuff but they were up to the task. They were very careful with everything and experienced at how to move trickier items in pretty close spaces without damaging anything.
I had one item that wouldn't fit and we discussed lifting it onto the second floor from outside and I'm definitely going to use them again. Thoroughly impressed with the work!

John and his crew were top notch; all them worked very hard, were professional, and friendly. They took very care of our dedicated and older items I was concerned about. I'm always weary of movers but John and his crew took that away as soon as I saw how dedicate and professional they were moving our equipment.
The team he brought communicated very well and just overall had a great time with the professional experience we received.
I would use them again in a heart beat.

John's team is simply amazing. They are very efficient at disassembling/assembling packing and moving. It would have taken an entire day if I hadn't used their service. Within 2.5 hours, they cleared out my studio apartment in Seattle, loaded everything to their truck and re-assembled everything in my new apartment in Bellevue. Their service is definitely worth the money. By far the best and seamless moving experience I have had. They have got a huge truck.
One area of improvement could be their arrival time. They were 15-20mins late. But other than that, great job !

We contacted John and his team to perform a one-way, local move for an oversized item. Relevant information was provided regarding the move (i.e. a flight of stairs), however John did not thoroughly read his email and was unprepared to complete the job as hired. The item was left in our garage, and after multiple attempts to schedule John's team to finish the job, all contact was left unanswered. The final price paid was double the quoted price, for an incomplete job. We understand quotes are non-binding, however the estimate was nowhere near the final total. These guys are awesome. I hired them to put my sofa through the second story window, because the moving company I hired to do my whole household move gave up on it and left it in the garage. They were fast, efficient and professional. I wish I hired them in the first place to do my move. I would highly recommend and will use them in future.

reasonable price for the move the next day. He was upfront about the cost which I appreciated because I have read so many horror reviews about moving companies charging you way over what they quote. My move required muscle only so John and one other guy showed up and got the move done quickly. John is passionate about his job and it shows! I would definitely hire him again.

I realized I needed help moving some things at the last minute. About 3 days until my scheduled move out. I looked up movers on Facebook and John from Alto was one of the first to respond. I am so glad he did because I didn't know what I was going to do given the complications of the items I needed moved from a second story apartment to the ground level.
We talked on the phone and he was very polite. He told me his background which assured me he is genuine and reliable. We discussed pricing and I thought his rates were very reasonable.

Hired Alto Moving to move a refrigerator to my rental house in Seattle. John, the owner, was prompt about calling me back and setting a date. Then I had to call him five days before the previously scheduled date and ask if we can move up the date to the next day. He was able to fit me in at the last minute which I really appreciated. He arrived on time with Elijah and these guys really hustled; always nice when you're paying them hourly. When we arrived at the rental house, the previous renter, had left a bunch of junk which John offered to take to the dump for an additional fee. Saved me

I am so grateful to Alto Moving for helping us through our move. John was quick to respond to emails and was super accommodating. He graciously rescheduled our move - twice! - due to shifting closing dates. He and Peter are very skilled, nice, fun to talk to, and did the job extremely well. Unlike every other move I've done Alto Moving did our move without any damage to either location or our belongings. Amazing! I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because their estimate was waaaaaaay off and we paid much more than we expected. That being said, the final bill was still less than other estimates

Peter and his crew did a great job. I was in a time crunch and they were able to fit me in. They were on time and ready to work when they arrived. Very professional. They made my move very easy and seamless, which we needed with our infant son.
As real estate broker, it's great to find new vendors I can refer my clients to make the process easier. Alto is now one them. Many have told me about their great experience.
