I can't say enough great things about Superior Floors. We had used their services about 20 years ago and had decided to hire them again to refinish our existing floors, replace carpets with new flooring and re-carpet the stairs. Cheryl the owner, David, Freddie and the rest of the staff were not only professional from start to finish, but went above and beyond on the job. My husband and I were extremely pleased with the results. We will be hiring them again in the upcoming year for additional work. Highly recommended.

Surprised at the rudeness of one of the employees (a part time designer). If you need a place for cabinets or other remodel things, this is not the place. Maybe she was having a really bad day. We don't know what happened before we got there but very shocked at the "tude". We are in the middle of a complete (to the studs) kitchen and master bath remodel. There are plenty of other resources in the area and will definitely NOT be using them for anything.

We are currently remodeling our bathroom and ordered our slate tiles from Superior Floors (we have used the tiles previously in our kitchen and upstairs bathroom). As always the team was helpful, personable and efficient - they sourced the tiles within a week. Also wanted to mention that the woolen carpet we bought from Superior Floors a couple of years ago is still as luxurious as ever - we love it - every time I step on it, it makes me smile .

I highly recommend Superior Floor Designs. We went to them because we were specifically looking for Hallmark-Alta Vista Malibu floors. They are one of the few that carry this line in San Diego. We first met with David Romo and he provided excellent customer service while being up front with cost and time of delivery/installation. We had a lot of other work being done on our house after our kitchen was flooded and Superior Floor was very patient with our timeline and working side-by-side with other contractors. I recently contacted this business and spoke with David Romo, a sales representative, about a quote for flooring for a new home being built. The initial call with David was ok and before the call ended David said he would send me the quote for the flooring I was looking to get installed by close of business the next day. A week later, after not receiving any phone call or email on the status of said quote, I called Superior to find out the status of the quote. We bought flooring twice from them in the last 12 months.
First we bought vinyl flooring for the upstairs and installed it ourselves (with our handyman). We did ok and really liked the feel of it underfoot (we used padding that we bought off Amazon).
We had 25 yo oak floors on the bottom floor. We had installed light grey tile flooring in the kitchen, bath, and pantry (Lowe's on clearance) and wanted to change the oak look to light gray to make a more seamless feel.
We contemplated refinishing but chose to install a light gray vinyl over the top (won't the next people be excited)

We have now had Superior Floor install carpet on a 3rd project in our home. We have used them for two different bedrooms, and now our stairway, entry, and upstairs hallway. We wished we went with Cheryl at Superior Floor Designs. We made the mistake of going with another flooring company in Encinitas because of their lower bid price and positive reviews online. It's true what they say--you get what you pay for. Long story short, the demo and installation the other company did was a nightmare and the base shoe of our kitchen and living room floors were left unfinished without any paint or caulking. The crew at Superior Flooring was very patient with our floor selection and despite delays from the manufacturer in getting the exact floor we wanted, Cheryl was very supportive all along the way. The installer, Henry, was a perfectionist and paid attention to all the details. He was patient and did a top notch job.

We have recently engaged their services to design our new kitchen. We spoke with the owner Cheryl who pointed us to Tamela Bynon, her designer. Tamela was unbelievably wonderful, she is articulate, patient and extremely attentive to detail, not only is she excellent as a designer, she also is schooled as an architect. We moved to San Diego 5 weeks ago and just had the engineer wood floor put in our house. John, the owner came to give us a free in home estimate. He gave us a really good and genuine advice and his pricing is right too. The workmen showed up to work on time, worked really hard and get the floor done quickly and beautifully.
Unfortunately, we found some water damaged and termite problem in one of our bedrooms. The work had to stop to rectify the problems. Few weeks later, Superior floor sent the workmen back to finish it as soon as we called.

Superior Flooring in Encinitis is not what it use to be. Richard, who was there for many years was very helpful and knowledgeable. However since he left the owner, John has been awful. He doesn't return phone calls, after numerous messages, he doesn't follow through and is totally unrelieable.
We have a problem with the carpet installed less than a year ago. John has been totally unresponsive to my calls and never follows up. Worst customer service, ever. I would not recommend using Superior Flooring in Encnitis, CA.

I paid the high price for Superior Flooring based on good reviews and my sense that customer service levels would be higher than the big stores.
My floors were installed a couple of months ago (June 2014). The installers were OK--errors were made and fixed on the wood side; the carpet installer was REALLY rude, and the living/ dining rooms were installed in the wrong direction... but I let it go.
I was told the finish would be "the same" as the existing wood floors I previously had installed (by the same wood maker, Indus Parquet). However, they were slick, as I found out a few days

I had wood flooring installed throughout my old home. John and his son were professional, answered all my questions and just really great to work with. There was excess moisture and repairs that were needed before the flooring could be installed. I feel that the job was done "right" without shortcuts and on schedule. The installers, Reifel Brothers, were artists- really good, efficient and easy to work with. I highly recommend Superior Floor Designs!
