Selected Charming Movers in August 2020 because of their efficiency in scheduling an estimate, and the fine detail of what every facet of the move would cost. Although we packed about 70% of our shipment the crew of 5-6 that came on the packing / loading day worked very quickly and very diligently. They were very careful in padding & wrapping each piece of furniture and particularly with glass items from a China cabinet & table top. The crew respectfully and carefully handled all of our goods, particularly many boxes we marked as ‘Fragile’.

I used Charming Movers to donate some furniture. It was somewhat complicated as they had to pick up furniture from two locations and move some around when they arrived at my apartment. We contracted with Charming Movers two empty out a storage unit and take the furniture to Habitat for Humanity. The owner Cheri was very responsive, and helpful with suggestions throughout the process. The moving team was on time, very pleasant, and extremely efficient. I highly recommend Charming Movers!!!

I have used this company several times over the last several years. Family and female owned and operated, Cheri will come to your home personally to inventory and provide an estimate for your move, and then will communicate and work with you to execute the plan for the day of the move. I appreciate the personal service and direct communication. I met her son as he was part of the crew that day and he had a calming effect on what potentially could have been a very busy and stressful day. Part 1. This was the ONLY company that actually comes to your home to see what you have, in order to give a good estimate. They called the day before to confirm and arrived promptly at 9:30. Very well oiled machine. They worked together in unison. Communicated throughout the process. Yes, some supplies were additional, but you have to figure that into the cost. A list of additional packing supplies is listed in your contract/estimate. I would think that would be up to you to figure how much will be used. I had no surprises. This is a woman owned family business. She takes great pride in her company’s work and in her employees.We moved from the DC area to Delaware. It was a two day move and everything went beautifully. During the move a glass table broke probably from the movement of the truck. They were very honest and took care of it for us. I highly recommend them and would use them again.

This company has to be AVOIDED at all costs.
They promised my wife that time charges exclude movers travel time to and fro to location of performance and that all packaging material was included (it even says that on their website) and gave her an estimate.
In the morning I signed papers they gave in good faith assuming they reflect the agreement… without reading them as you can imagine what a single family move day looks like.
In the end they billed us movers travel time and for material and when my wife questioned them she was told that your husband signed papers this morning agreeing

Great family run business. got my estimate quickly and was 5% less when the final bill was delivered. crew was on time and professional and after a 2 hour load in with a 3 person crew my house was packed without damage and move 3 hours south with no problem. cheri and suki were nice and actually charming but was most important was everything me and my wife, and 3 cats, cherish was handled carefully and quickly. i've moved a lot in 35 years and i would highly recommend this female run company more than most. the even helped clean up and throw away some difficult trash that required more than

Not only were they able to send people to help us move furniture from one room to another the very next day, the movers were very talented. It was obvious the way they communicated with each other that they cared about doing things properly, safely, and careful not to damage the furniture or the walls.
For us, this project was a bit nerve-racking and the reassurance from Cheri was comforting!

I used Charming Movers to move my things out of a storage unit and to move out years' worth of other "stuff" out of a garage. Unlike some other past moving experiences that didn't go so well, I found the overall experience ran very smoothly. I arranged everything directly with Cheri, the owner of the company. Unfortunately, I waited until the last minute to clear out the storage unit and I was under a tight deadline to move everything out before I would be charged another month. A year ago my family moved out of a three bedroom townhouse into a three foot apartment. When those movers unpacked the truck, they left everything in a pile, with the things we needed most at the back or bottom of the pile.

This company does everything they say the are not about: hidden charges: $850 in additional supply charges just for wrapping furniture?; unreliable: they forgot a crate of my stuff and tried to charge me 3 hrs of labor for leaving the move in and going to Baltimore to get it; bad customer service: Cheri the owner argues and patronizes you on the phone when you are just trying to understand the hidden charges. The video on their website starts with "have you ever experienced a nightmare move?" Yes: Charming Movers was a nightmare. We had a written agreement by Charming Movers and was contacted by Cheri 9:30pm the night before we were supposed to move saying their truck was stuck down in Florida. As a general rule for all movers, get an in-person estimate and it should be free. Charming did this and it was easy. I enjoyed the movers who came both to move me out and then two weeks later came to move me in. I had a crew of four guys both days, two guys were present for both the move out and the move in which added a nice consistency to the move. None of my belongings were broken or damaged in the move (I packed my own boxes so I feel like I deserve some credit for this hah!).

A couple of weeks ago I read a not so pleasant review for Charming Movers inc. I know there are 2 sides to every story, misunderstandings arise and sometimes we humans make mistakes. I can honestly say when I had a friend in need of their services, this moving company was at the ready to get my friend, who recently lost her husband, and her 2 small boys moved out of a house they were being evicted from. Charming Movers moved us from Annapolis, MD to Surfside Beach, SC and they were perfect from start to finish! They pre-packed the breakables the day before the truck arrived, the truck arrived on moving day on time with 5 guys and all of it was loaded in 3 hours with no obstacles! The truck arrived 3 days later (at our request) with 2 more guys and everything was put in each room and the beds were re-installed. EVERYTHING went smoothly and the guys were wonderful! I hired Charming Movers Inc for a move years ago and am just now getting around to writing a review. My estimate almost doubled and there was damage to the house (holes in the wall) and to my furniture. The claim process was a pain and Cheri was very unpleasant at the end of the process. The movers moving my furniture/boxes were hard working, so I think the issue had more to do with a poor estimate and the company not sending enough movers to handle the job. Other companies that I have used have sent 4+ movers where as this company only sent 2 movers.

They estimate my move fair, didn't hit one wall. Covered my furniture which was very heavy stone dressers. Didn't drop or damage one piece. Unpacked each piece and place where we requested. Un-Charming Movers moved me out of state in May/June of 2012 AND they recently threatened legal action against me unless I remove any and all negative listings. Obviously, that isn't happening.
The case is not settled! They co-mingled my items; causing lost and damaged items yet refuse to sufficiently compensate me. The company is beyond unprofessional. The credit card company is involved and I have two years to file a lawsuit.
I also filed complaints with the US Dept of Transportation which is ongoing. I would never use their services again.
