In 1980 the name was changed to Research Pest Control (same ownership). Research Pest Control is registered and licensed with the Texas Department of Agriculture, Structural Pest Control Service Division.
You've got pests, we've got solutions. Whatever your business shape or size, we have a pest control solution that fits your situation. We treat most pest problems by applying a water based chemical spray inside and outside of a structure. When treating your home indoors, we apply the spray to cracks and crevices and/or spot treat problem areas where pests hide.
Ants are very tiny insects that live in colonies. We get rid of ants many different ways. Our team uses all available methods to prevent ants in a given environment without causing any harm to humans and environment. Treatment plans include spraying a repellent. This kind of ant is known to be one of the most difficult insects to remove from the house.

Jeremy was my service guy and he was super nice, friendly and very professional. House and yard was treated for army worms and are all gone now! He even looked at another issue I had that was old termite tracks and advised me what to watch for. Actually every one of the service guys that have been out are great. Todd came out for my free evaluation and he was the nicest guy. I was satisfied with his solutions and told him I would run them by my husband when he got home. A few days later I called and asked for Todd but Ginger told me he was out sick and there were no notes on me at all. She was going to text him and call me right back. I never heard back.

The staff are extremely nice and I feel bad writing this review but I really don't like Scorpions. They sprayed three times in the span of two months and there were still scorpions in my house. Most we're dead but one was alive.
I've been using Reed's pest control for over a month now and I haven't seen a single scorpion inside or outside my house.
I was very excited to use research pest control because of all the positive reviews but I feel like I paid for nothing with no refund.

I heard some noises under my house at night and called Research Pest to figure out what it is. Mike came out and crawled under my entire house, diagnosed the problem, and told me some simple fixes I could do on my own to keep critters out. Great honest company that is more concerned with fixing the problem than charging customers an arm and a leg.

Very disappointing experience. I scheduled an appointment a week in advance (which was the first available opening they had and I had no problem at all with that). On the day of my appointment, they didn't show up and didn't bother to call. I called them and they said that they "rescheduled" my appointment but didn't have a phone number to call me and tell me. They also had the right address but the wrong name on my appointment. We have been customers for over 25 years, back when the brothers used to do the treatments themselves. Recently, a new guy did the treatment, but some insects came back in only 3-4 weeks, so we requested a re-treatment. We've only ever needed that maybe 2 times before. Instead, we got a phone lecture on how to be a better homeowner from a scheduler we have never dealt with before. We've used Research for years now and their customer service is unmatched. The tech usually shows up at the exact appointment time (which is so appreciated if you have other commitments). Even though it's misty/damp outside today he reassured me they'd come back to re-spray if it's not to my satisfaction. Such excellent customer service! From the minute I contacted them to end of the visit. I found a large spider( I was thinking tarantula) in my garage. I called and a very nice lady said she would check with her employees in case anyone had a last minute cancellation. Sure enough, someone was at my house in 30 minutes! His name was Matt and I am ever so grateful for his professionalism and speedy arrival ( esp since it was almost closing time)

Highly recommend them for great service. Former original owner of our home used them for years. We inherited good customer care. Thought we might have a rodent problem so called and the specialist came quickly and checked thoroughly. All good thank goodness. We get quarterly treatment and just tried mosquito service. I started with Research Pest Control in 1996 and have stayed with them because they are reliable and do a great job. This week I was less then satisfied with their service. It was a Friday afternoon and he treated my property in record time - I guess he was in a hurry to get home for the weekend. When I noticed that the outside had not been treated with the granular barrier I called and requested a retreatment. Michael still shows up to our house whenever we call -- the rats are smart little creatures and either figure out new access spots or we hear noises of their attempts to figure out new access spots. He's patient, doesn't complain about the crappy access to the pier-and-beam foundation and best of all, he seems to know everything about rats.

I first used Research Pest Control when I was having scorpions in the house. I went through the phone book (yea, it was a few years ago) and as I went down the list asking if they guaranteed against scorpions I kept getting "no". Got all the way to the R's and someone there said, "Ma'am, if you get rid of the bugs, you'll get rid of the scorpions." HIRED!

I have been a customer for seven years. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what has been happening over the last 6-12 months.
I scheduled my quarterly service for today between 11am-12pm. I rushed home from the gym and cleaned up the house. I happened to pass through the living room at 5 minutes until 11am and noticed the truck had pulled up. Perfect on timing from a service perspective!

Research is great - Michael came out and set traps in our attic and blocked all the holes roof rats were getting through. We live in the inner city (Bouldin) of Austin and have a HUGE pecan tree directly next to our house. Rats love pecans.
So seven rats in our attic were killed by the traps in just two days. Creeped us out, for sure.
