After years of experience as a foreman for some of NYC's biggest moving companies, Djordje (if you can't pronounce this, you're not the first) and his wife Olga decided it was time to start their very own. Too many things were being done wrong: customer were being 'stood-up' by their movers, and if you had a question after 5pm you had to wait until morning to reach anybody who could help.
That's where we come in. As a family operated company, we have ONE truck and a great crew. We're a family, so we know what it's like - and most importantly: we know how to help. We value honesty and diligence as the cornerstones of our work. Moving is not always an easy process. Packing, parking, stairs, and a million other factors come into play to determine if a move is quick-and-easy or a full day's work.

Before my husband and I started our own moving company, we too faced the hornets' nest of moving. We faced scattered boxes and our dispassionate resolve to pack them, move them down five narrow flights, and gracefully usher them across the street - where, thankfully, we had found our new ground floor apartment [enter sigh of relief here].

NY Nomads is really good for a small move because, unlike other companies, they don't have a 3-hour minimum. The movers were pleasant and professional, but they needed help with furniture disassembly, and their vehicle was too small for the number of workers, which ultimately caused a delay in their arrival at the destination. I was still satisfied with the overall experience and price.

We recently just made the move from Long Island city to NJ and hired New York Nomads to handle our move. Obviously the moving process is stressful for a number of reasons, but NY Nomads did such an incredible job of alleviating the stress. The crew showed up right on time, actually a couple min early, and was super friendly. We have a puppy and they were very playful with him and even though he was all over them, they didn't complain once. They were incredibly quick and efficient and not one piece of furniture had so much as a scratch on it. Oh and not to mention we moved on the hottest day

Trying to filter through innumerable moving companies in NYC with so many mixed reviews, NY Nomads was recommended by a friend. We could not have been more grateful or pleased with our experience. Even before moving day, in communicating about our needs and finalizing a quote, Nem was extremely pleasant, easy, and understanding to work with. This was such a difference from trying to coordinate with so many other companies who would overcharge, haggle on the smallest of items/minute changes, and added more stress to this whole moving process which is on its own is so stressful!

I highly recommend NY Nomads! Our move was from an apt in Brooklyn to a house in CT and everything was perfect. They were prompt, on time, and got us moved out fast. They arrived at the house minutes after we did and were done in no time. Our last movers damaged a few things but Nomads wrapped up everything so nothing was damaged and took the time to ask where my wife and I wanted all items in the house.

Everything was perfect. This was the second time we used them and they had to meet us in New Jersey at a house and storage unit and then goto our new place - also in New Jersey. From wearing masks to being incredibly polite and organized and efficient, they made a traumatic day much easier. They literally swept the place and picked up every loose thing and packed it with paper. Can't say enough about these guys. Would use them again cept I ain't doing this again (lol) but highly recommended

I had a great experience with New York Nomads! They were helpful and communicative in the days leading up to my move; showed up promptly on the day of and made quick work of packing up all my things and then unloading them in my new (4th floor walk up!) apartment. They did the whole thing in 2.5 hours--I was so impressed. And the whole time, they were professional, friendly, careful with my things, and SO efficient. Not to mention, cheap--their quote was several hundred dollars cheaper than anything else I saw, and was exactly what they ended up charging me--no last minute changes or surprise charges

I highly recommend NY Nomads! They took away the stresses of moving and were patient and professional when hiccups occurred when my new building had problems with the elevators. Olga was quick to respond to my inquiry and requests for insurances. She was able to give me a very fair estimate within the day. George and his crew were professional, courteous, and efficient while caring for all of my belongings during the move. I hope I don't have to move again soon, but I would not hesitate to use their services again.

New York Nomads did a fantastic job helping my wife and I move out of our apartment and into our first house. Their team demonstrated strong professionalism in packing our belongings carefully, labeling boxes for future use, and lifting / shifting items while preserving walls, ceiling, floors in both locations. Their attention to COVID precautions was notable as they wore masks and foot covers (upon special request) and were respectful about social distancing with us, as we were holding a three-month-old child. At the last minute on a Friday we determined that moving our daughter from her 2 story walk-up to a 5-story walk-up the next day was not going to be physically possible for our meager crew, so we decided to look into movers. We knew it was last minute and unlikely but figured we would reach out to a few to see if they could accommodate us.

These movers were incredible. Top of the line for NYC, don't bother looking anywhere else. They are so friendly and efficient in their work. I felt very safe leaving my things in their hands. I highly recommend them. They were happy to help me build a few furniture pieces back together in the spare time and came prepared with all of their own supplies to do just about anything.
I made my booking on a Friday afternoon and they were able to accommodate my needs for a Saturday move with a very fair price point.

All correspondence with Olga prior to the move was lighting quick. Any questions leading up to moving day were addressed in a timely fashion. Top shelf customer service!
My recommendation is to provide as much detail regarding the furniture, appliances & number of boxes you have. This will allow the movers to properly prepare & give you a better idea of costs.
We didn't have many large pieces of furniture so this may have been an easier move overall. A team of 3 arrived early in Hoboken NJ prior to a 9am go time. Packed up their truck, drove to the LES and were done unloading

Last year I took their service. They were so much helpful during the stringent process put by the building management for liability insurance numbers. I can't tell totally in words how much Olga and team were really helpful.

I had a great experience with New York Nomads for my move! Olga was extremely helpful on the phone to discuss the different pricing options (hourly by number of workers or flat fee based on a walk through of items...I ended up with the 3 movers hourly rate).
The movers were professional and diligent and treated my items with care. Will use them again!

I believe the owner leads the move himself (I may be wrong), but this may explain why these guys are SO competent, gentle, polite, and effective. From what I can tell, it is not subcontracted like many other moving companies are. Starting from the quote process, Olga was super responsive and flexible in timing. Answered emails within less than ten minutes.
Djordje and his team came on time despite a flat tyre. We asked for a full pack and unpack, and they were super efficient. It was thoroughly the best experience with movers that my husband and I have ever had -- and I'll definitely be using

This review is definitely long overdue. The NY Nomads are AMAZING! We've used their services twice, in 2018 and 2019 and we'll use them over and over again if we have to. They're professional, smart, respectful, kind, knowledgeable... they're the entire package! They're fast and really know what they are doing. If you're thinking of hiring movers, please go with them. You will not regret it!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!

What a great experience! NY Nomads made our move from Brooklyn to Manhattan feel effortless. We booked our move with Olga (one of the owners) who was an absolute joy to talk to! DJ (the other owner) showed up on time and got everything packed and loaded within an hour. He wrapped our furniture carefully and took apart the big awkward stuff as if he had built it in the first place. Once he got to our new place, all our stuff was quickly unloaded and placed right where we needed it. Nothing was damaged. The whole operation was really impressive. Moving is stressful, but NY Nomads really made it feel
