UPDATE: After a rocky start VW Seaside came through and we had a great experience with Anthony and Giuseppe purchasing a new ID.4. The car is fantastic and Anthony was extremely knowledgable and able to answer all of my questions. Giuseppe heard our previous issues and made sure that we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the process. Paper work was straightforward (thank you Misty) and all prepared beforehand.

The most perfect experience at a dealership to date. I usually buy used cars and this was my first new car purchase. I was a little nervous. I went to VW Fresno who let me add, were not helpful at all. They were going round and round in circles to get me to just come in. I reached out to VW Seaside and let me tell you from the get go I felt relaxed. All the right questions that catered for MY needs were asked and answered in the most informative way. I bought a new VW at this dealership in 2017 and the purchase experience was easy and painless. The first few years of service experiences were also fine. In the last year the service experience has gone downhill massively. Getting service done completely and accurately was a big fail. For my big 40K mile service, I had to come back for the work they missed the first time because they only did half of the job per what is required in the maintenance manual. Getting the appointments was near impossible. The service advisor never answers their phone, never returns any calls, voicemails, or messages

The service department is very friendly, but getting service is very difficult. I have a new VW Golf with a broken sunglass holder. The door hangs open blocking my rearview mirror. I called and emailed, but got no response. I stopped by one day, and a very friendly employee told me to come back tomorrow so a tech could look at it. I came back and waited 45 minutes to speak to an employee. The employee was friendly and the tech said he would file some paperwork and order the part and then call me when the part comes in. I have not been called. I wish Volkswagon could give me an explanation. At this

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT or dealership. They are flakes and do not return phone calls. Apparently customers do not matter to them. I will NEVER given them another penny due to their lack of respect for paying customers.
I have gotten several notices from VW regarding a recall on my car that I purchased from this dealership. They only have one guy who handles VW service and he obviously doesn't care about customers because he doesn't call them back. I left him 3 voicemails and had the woman in the parts department hand deliver him a message with my number... twice. Nothing.

The cost of labor for any service is extremely high, 3/4 of the bill was labor cost! They also charge $200 for a diagnostic fee and don't waive the diagnosis fee when you decide to stay with them to get the work done. Overall it felt like they were trying to over charge at any chance they could get. I clearly said (and it even said so on my receipt) that I didn't want any oil service done. While doing repairs they charged me and completed a premium oil change with lots of added charges like diesel additive, and apparently a screw!?! That amounted to an extra $100 charge. I am a loyal VW customer

Giuseppe Napoli is extremely RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. He is one of the worse sales managers on the peninsula. I took a SUV out for a test drive, it took longer then I anticipated, manager stated wrongly, that I had the car for over 3 hours but it was over an hour. He was nasty not only to the salesperson but to me while standing in open sales office. His managerial skills are poorly lacking and uncouth, by disciplining a loyal and longstanding employee in the open forum by attempting to shame this sales person not only in front of his coworkers but with customers around.

My sister and I worked with the VW salesperson Mark Mejia and he was kind and courteous and we really felt that he was on our side through the whole process. The sales manager from Cadillac helped us with our deal he was fair and professional. We had been to another dealership in that plaza (Hyundai) where the sales manager talked down to us- I’m assuming it was because we were women. However, the sales manager and Mark treated us with respect and courtesy. This was in October 2020, and I have been recommending VW seaside to everyone. So I have been rebuilding a vw Golf R that had been wrecked. This is where the vw parts department came in handy. Steve has been a great help especially when it came to the specialty parts used on the Golf R vs regular golf. We used my VIN to ensure I had the correct parts for my vehicle and my 15 plus visits to the parts department have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Was looking for a used SUV and came across and VW Atlas at 7 am. I asked for more information about the vehicle, thinking I wouldn't get a response till 9 when they open. Within half an hour I was contacted by Jeff. I told him my situation and he told me to come in and test drive the car first and see if I even like it. When I showed up the car was ready for me to go. I went to test drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and met CJ on the lot ... he was really easy going - he let me take it on a solo test drive to really experience the car myself. I liked the JGC, but wasn't in love - he asked about other options I was thinking about like VW Atlas. We walked across the lot to go see what the adjacent dealership had.
Even though he mainly works for Jeep, he helped answer questions about the VW Atlas and did research to find answers that he didn't already know - and easily set me up with a test drive on the one I ended up buying

Horrible customer service and quality of work. Cars transmission went out under warranty and had a few issues with Seaside from start to finish. First, the VW dealership pushed us over to the Cadillac dealer to get the car in for repairs, so things became very inconsistent from what the person on the phone told us prior to going in. They then don't offer or provide a loaner car... which usually wouldn't be that big of a deal except that they took over 3 weeks to replace the transmission. UPDATE: Mason had added GAP coverage without my knowledge, and I am just now being made aware of it. The General Sales Manager told me this as if it's suppose to make it any better.
I also failed to mention that they charge more to pay for the car in cash and instead made me finance it. What's really strange is that when I asked if I could pay off the remaining balance on the first payment, Mason told me I would have to wait 6 months to avoid getting fee'd. How does that make any sense? Especially if this wasn't stated in the fine print? On top of giving me the run around

Worst service. Trying to return a lease to this place was impossible. "We don't have room to accept your lease" was what I was told. So we had to go to salinas to return our lease and they were WAAAAYYYYY better and nicer. I also went to get a service done here and was told that my car would be cleaned but came back to a dirty car and was told that there's only 1 person cleaning cars at the moment. It is what it is.

Dropped my atlas for oil change and issue with sunroof shade not working. That was Wednesday morning and was told they would call later that afternoon once a assessment was made. No call. Thursday no call Friday I called left message . Late that afternoon call back was received and was told problem needed parts and they would arrive on Monday. Tues following week no call .left message for call back .. nothing until I called back on Wednesday and was told needs more parts..problem was bigger that what they originally thought. Again part not expected till Monday/Tuesday. Tuesday again no call. Left

We have had the worst customer service experience. Our car has been in the shop for over two weeks. They can diagnose what's wrong with it. You can't get through to them on the phone and they never call you back. I even called the GM left a message and he never called me back. Called today about picking up the car and was told our advise is off today and they can't find the paperwork. Take your Vintage VWs elsewhere for service

Worst Customer Service. They make promises they can't keep which they do on purpose. I have a newer Jetta which has been in and out of the shop multiple times over the span of a few months and every time it takes way longer than it should and the make promises about when it will get done or that they will call if they have any updates and neither happens. You always have to call them if you want any information.
