We chose the name Dovetail to indicate our commitment to quality, strength, and beauty in all that we do for our clientele. Dovetail Builders derives it's name from the dovetail joint, a finely crafted, interlocking connection of two wooden panels at a right angle. This kind of joint is strong and smooth.
Dovetail Builders, Inc. specializes in detail-oriented design and construction of custom homes. We build in Bellaire, West University, Memorial, River Oaks and other midtown neighborhoods. While some builders strive to serve a broad market, Dovetail prefers to stay steps ahead by creating our own. This distinct approach emphasizes finding better methods of designing and building energy efficient homes.
Dovetail has developed systems and procedures for everything, from how and when customer selections are made, to exact detailing on how each trade must perform their tasks. Rules and procedures are posted and passed out at the job site, and each tradesman is held accountable to these procedures for that portion of the work.

Chris and his team built new closets for us that looked they'd always been there. What hasn't he done in our home? We had an elevator that had a leak from for an unknown site. He diagnosed the problem and repaired and it worked fine until Harvey came, then it and the whole downstairs filled up with water. He repaired the elevator again and all the… built in wood cabinets and floors everywhere downstairs. Chris Fry & his crew from Dovetail Builders is my go-to team for home repairs & upgrades. I own a 1937 home and Dovetail has completed many projects that include: updating 2 bathrooms, updating electrical, as well as interior & exterior paint.
