As a business owner for 20+ years with over 80 employees myself, I feel confidently qualified to review the quality of another business. Helemai has great employees. Some of their workers work harder than others and that's to be expected. However, the owner of the business needs to take a course on running a company and learn to stand behind his work. I was recommended to Helemai by a friend but I would NEVER recommend Helemai to anyone.

I've been using Hele Mai for eight years. Jason and his crew built a beautiful lava rock island in our front yard. Neighbors compliment it and walkers and joggers stop to take pictures.
The yard always has something in bloom.
One political campaign used our front yard as a background photo for the campaign flyers and social media.
He just completed a large drainage project that turned out great. I'll keep using Hele Mai, even during these Covid-stressed times when everyone wants to improve their yards at the same time.

A complete disaster. We first hired them to do a bit of tree clearing for a fence replacement (fencing done by another company). They seemed to do a decent job, although they didn't clean up the debris very well. Anyway, we talked about installing pavers in a walkway area that was just gravel. We agreed on a price and the nightmare began.
Firstly, they started the job without first getting all the materials they needed. So after grading the area, we waited for weeks for the pavers. Later we had to wait for the river rocks that would fill between the pavers, but I'm getting ahead of myself

Called and spoke to the owner, Jason Blair, regarding sprinklers and landscaping. I had been referred to him from and friend, and also his own wife! I gave him a time that my husband and I would be home for a consult, and confirmed with Jason the day prior. He completely stood us up! I texted him and asked if was coming, and didn't get a reply until that night at 8 pm with no apology and a lame excuse. No thanks!

I've watched them trim my neighbor's monkey pod and coconut trees for years. I've hired them to trim my coconut trees and my neighbor's monkey pod tree a couple of times. They do a great job trimming the trees. They cleaned my property very well when I was the one doing the hiring. They did not clean my yard very well at all when I was the neighbor of the person who hired them. Actually, they were a bit on the rude side. I understand that it was a long day. I saw that it was windy and a bit scary at the top of the coconut trees. I felt bad when they were rude to me when I was
