Our firm is experienced in foundation bolting, cripple wall bracing, and seismic retrofitting homes, apartment buildings and commercial structures.
We started by adding moment frames and new footings and then anchored the existing joist to the concrete wall using Simpson Strong-Tie hold down and Titen bolts. With the skill and expertise of our team at Current Construction the building underwent extensive structural repair, a complete reconstruction of utilities and then precise finish work.
This 1925 East Lake Merritt building has undergone extensive renovations while preserving the original period details. 1825 Mission Street was a highly anticipated transformation of a multi-unit senior residential building. We were able to give the building a new lease on life by upgrading and remodeling each of the residences, along with the reception areas, communal living space, courtyard and the exterior of the building.

Current did a whole home remodel for me back in 2019. I had originally contacted David in 2017 to provide an estimate. Anyone who has done a project of this scope can imagine the challenges of hiring a general contractor especially in the Bay Area. We had an amazing experience working with Colm and his team. No one wants to do extensive foundation and structural work on their home but if you have to, I don't think we would have made it through with anyone else. They were so patient with us when we had to stop or stall work to secure more financing as the scope quadrupled (again, not at all CC's doing, just old houses), and they were just so considerate and sweet as we, insanely, but out of necessity had to live on-site during the very extensive repairs. David Breslin(Co-owner) is a true professional. I met him while walking past one of his soft story job sites located on Fillmore St in SF.
Shortly after that, I hired him to seismically upgrade my four story building, also in SF.
He’s very busy, but it was worth the small wait.
David was on site everyday. He discovered weaknesses in our 1904 building that I hadn’t thought of and was a delight to work with. His team was very professional and left the house in a clean state at the end of the day, everyday. David’s response time was almost immediate, which is hard to do when ones business

I'm currently at the tail end of our home remodel and have been extremely happy with Colm, David, and his entire crew. Our remodel consisted of removing load-bearing walls, inserting two shear walls, installing 3 new footers that were tied into the existing foundation , installing new beams from the foundation up two levels to the ceiling that joined the new ceilings beams in the crawl space, and relocating our living room to the back of the house and move a bedroom from the back to the front of the home. We needed some structural work done on our new home and were referred to Current Construction by a coworker. We called and set up an appointment and then met with David. He reviewed the plans with us, explained the process, and walked us through the building permit applications . The structural soft story plans were not intuitive to me, but David explained it in a way we could understand and within a week we had a bid. It wasn't the cheapest we received, but we felt confident with his estimate and skills.
The job took a total of 6 weeks and that includes getting a new steel beam, foundation
