United Appliances Repair was founded in 2015 as a small company dedicated to providing our community with fast, reliable, and affordable repairs for all kinds of appliances. Thanksgiving 2019. Ready to have a beautiful, relaxing day at home, sheltered from the wind and rain. Get up in the morning, go down to turn on the heat--nothing. The unit tries to start but the gas flame won't light. This furnace has an electric igniter, so no pilot light to check. I'm stuck inside, freezing, on an unusually cold Thanksgiving Day for San Francisco. About an hour later, the power goes out. Luckily, I wasn't cooking dinner for anyone!
PG&E restored the power in about an hour, but I decided to tough it out with the lack of heat until the next day. Early Friday

We had used this service for our fridge and stove.
Technician was very professional and honest. I liked that a lot. The part for our stove he ordered from from some part stock, the arrived next day and implemented it quite fast and without any dust.
For our fridge, we had to call him for two separate times for different issues. He was honest and told us when repairs were not worth it.
Service prices are reasonable and technicians are willing to come in the late afternoon/early evening when I'm home from work. That’s what I appreciate!

So incredibly helpful! Sergey responded so quickly to our yelp request for our fridge. He came the very next day and didn't beat around the bush. Instead of charging us a million dollars for repairs on who knows what, he said that our fridge was on its last legs and to get a new one. He did try to solve the problem, but said that of it persisted, the cost to fix it would be equal to just getting a new one. So honest! Thank you!

The technician took several hours to diagnose a problem with our oven. I asked him to also pull out our dishwasher since there was a bad smell that I thought might have been a dead animal :( He has me pay him $100 cash on top of the fee for the oven. I agreed for some reason. Should have been a red flag.
He tested the dishwasher to ensure it was working, (it was) pulled the dishwasher out from under the counter and we removed the remains of a dead rat from the bottom (Ew.)

Awesome experience with United Appliance Repair. Used Yelp's request a quote I got 3 quotes, went with United Appliance, oven was fixed, they did a great job on the diagnosis. Happy with the service. Three months warranty is a peace of mind. The folks at United Appliance has been super responsive and bringing their A game. Would recommend!

I called United to arrange a simple cleaning of a refrigerator fan; and, after a misunderstanding, the impressive tech, Derrick (sp.?) did a thorough job, and cleaned up the results of the work.

I contacted United Appliance Repair (via Thumbtack) because our fridge was no longer cooling. Sergey was quick to respond and provided two potential reasons for the error code we were seeing (either the fan was not working or the control board was broken). He ordered both parts and scheduled a time for the technician, Ryan, to come out. Right at the start of the window, Ryan knocked on the door and got to work opening up the fridge. I called to company and they scheduled the appointment for weekend day (which was comfy for me). We were very happy with their repairman, acknowledged technician David who quickly diagnosed the problem with our washer, located the necessary part and returned to install it. Complete waste of time. If you want a job done do NOT use them.
I submitted a picture of our dryer along with the model # (per Lyu's instructions) and requested someone to come out and replace the broken gasket (visible in the picture). Lyu then scheduled me, and David showed up to inspect the unit with NO PARTS on hand. UNACCEPTABLE and total WASTE OF TIME. Do not recommend.

And of course the furnace goes bad... won't fire up. I call here; I call there. One of the big companies wants almost $200 for "diagnosis" translated to "we want to sell you a new furnace."
I finally call United Appliance, and they pick up! No phone tree to go through. No haggling over what an emergency constitutes (we need somebody TONIGHT). United's guy can make it out in an hour or so.
And he does. My wife lets him in, but before I can get down to the furnace myself

We really liked Derek from United.
He fixed the heater quickly, which in January, even in Silicon Valley, is a good thing.
He did run late, but the company called us to let is know when he'd be arriving. If they change one thing it should be to give people a phone number to call on the day of their appt: it was Saturday so the main webpage number didn't work.
Maybe the flipside is that Derek was not rushed at all while he was here. When he had the furnace open he looked at a few other things that could get old to be sure they still looked good. So we have peace of mind that it&apos

Frustrated I contacted United Appliance Repair through their website, they gave me a time for the appointment with a two-hour window. They showed up on time with the appropriate part and were done before they said they would be. The amount they quoted me to do the repair is what they billed me
