Services
From our humble beginning as a driveway paving company, Louisville Paving and Construction Company is now the premier highway contractor in the greater Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana region. For 70 years, we've been building and rehabilitating roads and parking lots. Serving both the public and private sectors, Louisville Paving and Construction Company offers an integrated package of professional construction services.
Louisville Paving and Construction Company is a family-owned business with a rich history born from modest beginnings. Our story begins nearly a century ago, in 1919, when Joseph Michael Dougherty, a second-generation descendant of Irish immigrants, formed the Dougherty Coal Company. Joseph Michael's son, Joseph Thomas, joined the company soon after and continued to grow the business after his father's death in 1927.
We passionately connect people to their lives by building the subdivisions where they live, the parks where they play, the stores where they shop, the offices where they work, the schools where they learn, the churches where they pray and the roads and the infrastructure that get them there. Our commitment sustains our operations and promotes both the personal and professional growth of our team members.
Recycle old asphalt pavement from area homes and businesses, processing and blending it with virgin materials to build new roads. We are one of Kentucky's largest recyclers of construction materials. Look for new ways to improve the efficiency of our processes and equipment in an effort to conserve energy, reduce waste and lessen our environmental impact.
Louisville Paving and Construction Company owns and operates several asphalt plants in the Louisville metropolitan area, as well as, an liquid asphalt terminal in Carrollton, Kentucky, which service Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Each plant has its own certified materials testing/quality control lab.

Louisville Paving was doing road work on highway 62 and apparently signed a contract with Reynolds Sealing and Striping for the yellow painted lines on the roads. My brand new Blazer now has yellow paint speckles all of the driver side because the clowns obviously didn't do their job to protect other vehicles from their over spray. Conveniently they couldn't find a truck in the area in that time period.
