MJ Home Services came through for us!!! We had an issue with our siding at the top of our third story townhome. We got ahold of MJ and they sent someone out same day to fix before our issues became much much worse as gale force winds were coming that evening! Had them come out for an estimate and was told they would get back to me in a few days. I called them a few days later as they hadn't gotten back to me with the estimate and was told that they would. A few days later I sent them an email but they never responded to that either. I cannot understand how a business can spend time and effort to come out and look at the work and then fail to follow up or respond. If they didn't want to do the work or provide the estimate they could have just as easily said so. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances.

MJ Home Services, Melissa scheduled the work to be completed at our church; she was easy to work with over the phone and answered all my questions in advance. The scope of work included flashing, roof patching-shingle replacement, and sealing. Johnathan and his team came out and performed all of the requested work on time and under budget. We had a sewage back up in our basement and it was super stressful. Working with Jacob and Darwin from MJ home services was a welcome relief! They did a great job and were so professional and caring. After dealing with what seemed like 100 phone calls to the county, to the city, to our insurance company, etc, it was so nice to have these guys show up with a great attitude and work hard to make sure I was happy. I'M A INVESTOR!! - Let me tell you that I wish they did other services because it very hard to find someone dependable and trustworthy in the field. I saw the reviews that other people said about they so I decided to give them a try. Melissa is great!! I truly appreciate all the work, pictures and communications. The team was able to remove all of the mold in 2 days keeping within my budget and time frame. I hope to not have to use them again but if I do they will be my #1 one pick.

Melissa is simply a blessing! We found mold in our basement right after we closed and had to get the issue taken care of ASAP. They were so quick to respond and really worked with our schedule and were so nice and understanding. We went back and forth about a million times because I had so many questions - billing,scheduling, etc. but they were SO patient. Seriously, so glad I am working with them because I am stressed out!!

My condo roof had a major leak and damaged multiple rooms. I called MJ Home Services and they were super kind and were going to have someone come out within a few hours. My condo association requested that I cancel that appointment so they could send their own contractor out. Despite the fact I cancelled MJ's appointment, they gave me recommendations on things to look for with the condo contractor and were extremely kind. While I can't speak to their mitigation services, I can only imagine they are spectacular if it's anything like their customer service.

I am very happy with my recent experience with MJ Home Services, especially since a small job turned into a very big one we could not have anticipated.
We had some evidence of interior water intrusion, even after having a local roofing company come out twice last year to address it. The initial inspection was scheduled promptly, and the inspector did a thorough job of looking for the source of the problem. He found what he thought was the source of the water intrusion; I received an inspection report and estimate within a day.
The work was scheduled, and we anticipated it would take about 2 days

The down fall of this business are the 2 females that handle the office. I called them back in May due to a horrible moldy/mildew smell in my basement. I was initially quoted $1300. The gentleman came out an assessed the work, at which time, I was quoted $2000. They came in, ripped out the carpet, padding, and drywall. Fixed the problem from both the outside and inside of the house. Everything seemed sealed. It rained for almost a week during the time of the repairs so I started smelling the mildew again...but this time in the another area of the basement. I contacted them & the guy came out

I should have known then that I shouldn't hire these people, but their reviews are good on yelp so I figured I'd give them a shot.

I contacted MJ Home Services about some water damage in my attic. They came out and did a thorough inspection of my attic and roof. Because of the attic leaks and overall condition of my roof, I decided to go ahead with a roof replacement. Melissa had an estimate to me in no time, and we agreed to move forward. Their estimate was clear, concise and very reasonable. Unfortunately, my financing fell through at the last minute, so I was unable to have the work done at this time. John performed a thorough inspection of our roof and foundation. Unlike most contractors, John took the time to explain and show me what he was looking for.
My initial two appointments were not honored, which I later found out was due to unforeseen circumstances and a busy schedule. John's wife Melissa went above and beyond to make sure the third appointment was honored. She even followed up after the inspection to ask if I was satisfied.
All-in-all, this is an honest company which takes pride in customer service.

MJ Home Services recoated my roof and I am very happy w/ the work they performed. Communication was excellent & professional. Responsiveness was great from Devan & the crew. The cost was $7,400 (includes silver roof coating, mold treatment, drywall removal, and disassembly & reassembly of the rooftop deck), which I think was reasonable. Overall I was very pleased.
However, less than 18 hours after the work was completed, I received a phone call from John basically trying to strong arm me into paying the final installment and accusing me of "jerking him around". I was driving

This company is great! My gutters, siding, and roof needed some repair work as part of an agreement for sale. The job is complicated because the bump out on my rowhouse only allows about a foot of clearance to do most of the work.
John came out and assessed the situation on New Year's Eve. He has an amazing spirit, and he made me feel completely comfortable with him AND then also gave me the best estimate. His wife Melissa was also great -- prompt with paperwork and checking in via text and email about my decision, next steps, the work.

I have had a damp corner in my basement and my tenants alerted me to the fact that there was some mold appearing. I had been using a handyman to bandaid the situation for a while and hadn't heard anything from my tenants, figuring No News=Good News.
My situation was not an emergency, but the MJ crew got right on it, removed the mold, and seemingly fixed the problem where the water was coming in. They responded quickly, came out in speedy fashion, and the work seems like it was very well done.
I highly recommend their services.

Had some minor water damage in our basement following a big storm. Since we had sold our house, it looked bad during the initial inspection. Found MJ Home just through a google search and they were very quick to respond. John came out within a day or two, quickly assessed the situation and told us an estimate. They came out less than a week later and were on time (early actually) cleaned up after themeselves and MOST importantly, fixed the problem.
There are not enough businesses like this still around, please use them for any water/mold issues, you won't regret it!!

This type of work is never a happy experience. This company is willing to do their best and work with you on payment options. I felt they were honest and upfront with the charges. I love electronic payment options and prompt email correspondence. Despite the recent storms and obvious busy times, they still worked quickly. I went with them based on their positive reviews. I couldn't afford the entire job, but they helped make it happen. I recommend you give them a chance. Hopefully I can have them back to work on another section of my home on Moore Ave in Baltimore.

I have a couple of mixed emotions. Overall I was quite happy with the job MJ Home Services did. Let me first say the job that Mike did was great--the carpet looks excellent.
The only issue was that I was told on the phone that the price was $25 a room. That's a great price, and was why I chose them. However, when the technician got there (in his unmarked Lexus), the price ended up being $195 for my two small carpeted rooms (after bargaining down from $330). Basically, it was $25 a room for a "once-over" cleaning (surface level). It doubled the price for a "deep cleaning"
