Currently we are doing a home renovation with HK and thus far our experience has been nothing but positive. Project Manager George has guided us through the process, tirelessly working to make sure our vision matched, and that we were on the same page at all times. Although there were some unforeseen circumstances thrown our way, HK and George couldn't have handled it better. It is no surprise as to why HK is an industry leader when it comes to residential construction. 5/5 Would recommend.

Excellent customer service from HK construction. My husband and I have been working to get our home remodeled and renovated the way we wanted since before the pandemic. We came across George Smith at the Convention center and I just want to say thank you for your patience and all the hard work and diligently coming through with beautiful work.. I wanted to give HK Construction the benefit of the doubt after reading a few negative reviews before attending the seminar, I must say the presentation was very impressive. The employee who helped us was very polite, as we explained that we are extending our home to give it more space to our existing and to include remodeling the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Our plans are HOA approved just waiting on DPP's approval but with Covid it'll take sometime for that process but in the meantime he was able to setup a home visit on his next availability.

We needed to rebuild our home from the ground up. We researched and talked to several contractors. We selected HK Construction because we liked their presentation and the quality of materials they use in their construction. We are glad we chose them. They worked closely with us to stay on budget and get us what we wanted. The project manager kept in contact with us every step of the way and worked with us on any changes we had.
We now enjoy the comfortable home we wanted. We are the envy of our neighbors. I would recommend HK Construction as they gave us the quality workmanship and service

Do not use this company, they will overcharge you. Big scam, poor communication, terrible rude people. They know how to disappear when they know there are problems with the project. Site manager is totally unorganized and confused as to what's happening at the worksite. Can't organize workers to show up. It's a meat factory when it comes to workers. They all come and go due to managements demands. Seen a lot of unhappy workers leave this company. I tell people my horror story and tell them to bypass this company. No ALOHA!

I'll admit that I was a bit leery of calling HK after reading a couple of the reviews here but I have to say I'm really pleased I did. We were looking to do a sizable remodel to our home and wanted to use a well established contractor that would be open to our vision and would be around for the foreseeable future. HK Construction. Seems like a good company on internet, seminars.
However, when I met with the vice president "Alan" personally.....HORRIBLE customer service and courtesy. The guy missed 2 appts that I scheduled with him...without even calling me and letting me know. Those 2 occasions I had to call him and see what was going on... gave me 2 lame excuses. One was, that he was in a meeting... so, you set a meeting knowing you have another meeting? Or knowing you possibly mistakenly scheduled a meeting at the same time... but, have NO COURTESY to even let me know? Second lame

We took a day off and arranged to meet four different general contractors about renovating our home. Three showed up at their respective times. One called on the day of the meeting and asked to reschedule. No problem. We scheduled another meeting about a week later just for this contractor and guess what? Three minutes before our meeting they text us and asked to reschedule again! We left work early to meet with them. No thank you HK Construction. Our time is as valuable as yours.

We recently inquired about a home extension and a bathroom remodel at the January BIA Homeshow. HK was really quick to schedule an estimate which really impressed us. I took off from work to get the estimate done. HK never showed up for our SCHEDULED appointment, and never even called to explain why. My wife called them 3 times throughout the day and left them a message which was NEVER returned. They later sent an email at almost 5 pm with a BS screen shot of a TM conversation between them and someone they claimed to be my wife. These guys are good! Over the past 6 months we have been prepping a big job in portlock to build a brand new custom high end home. And after many many weeks waiting for City and County permits and other regulation details were finally sorted out and last week we finally broke ground and are happy with the crew and their great work ethic !! Recently built a major additional unit on top of 3 car garage, which was also upgraded and enclosed. Awesome experience working with this company. After carefully and patiently listening to our goals (which changed several times), they helped design a plan close to budget. Enjoyed listening to the innovative ideas of Harry, Johnny and Kalai and working with Kenji and his crew.
The actual project took a little longer than expected mainly due to local material suppliers and sub contractor schedules. The HK crew was very professional, flexible and sensitive to our needs as well as our neighbors.

We chose HK, after comparing three other General Contractors mainly because HK listened closely to our desires and was attentive to our life style as well as our future needs. The design process took weeks, mostly on our end, but, HK was very patient throughout the process insuring our vision was reflected in the renovation. Their expert knowledge on product and construction possibilities resulted in our Perfect "Age in Place" Home and kept us where we wanted to stay. I interviewed at least 3 contractors when it was time for us to remodel our home. HK was the ONLY contractor that sat with us (unrushed) and asked us what we wanted from the remodel. Any remodel project is stressful, and ours was no exception in that department, but whenever I had a concern they were there for me and we worked out whatever the situation was until I was satisfied.
