In 1963, Sy Derin started SY DERIN COMPANY INC. because many glass shops required parts. He would drive around providing Mobile Glass Parts and Tool Supply services in his van to various local businesses. In time, he found that he did not have enough storage for all the products, so he moved into a store at 13425 Beach Ave. in Marina Del Rey, CA.

Update for July 2020.
Not sure what happened to the friendly and helpful service that I found here previously. I understand there are new circumstances to work under with COVID-19. Understandable that changes are in place. That does not excuse them completely dismissing my visit. I came in because my parents are doing a bathroom reno. They need a shower door fast. Asked what was available in stock and they went out of their way to tell me to go away in 5 different ways. I have a contractor who can come get the door. I have the money to buy. I have the willingness.

My husband just went in today so we could get a quote for our shower door. He walks in, doorbell rings and sees 2 employees speaking which is fine althoughmentions that the man speaking to the woman was cussing at whatever ye was talking about.
They dont acknowledge him, look his way or say anything until about a minute later the lady comes up to my husband but doesn't say a word, just looks at him.
So my husband starts and says "I'm looking for a quote for a shower door"
She responds "shower door? What? What do you mean, what company are you with?"
My husband says

DONT BOTHER. Very Rude. I called for information and the man who answered the phone refused to help me. He actually HUNG UP ON ME mid sentence. Apparently they are wholesalers and don't work with the public and will not even suggest a retailer to work this. I do have a reseller permit but after that experience would never consider giving them my business.
