I’ve hired Oak Design and Construction a few times over the past 20 years, most recently this summer. Here’s something you won’t hear often about a general contractor—Dave and his team are a joy to work with. They are professional and are great at communicating with clients. The crews are friendly and they treat your home with TLC. They take steps to ensure the job site is always as clean as possible and that the mess doesn’t migrate to other parts of the home. The subcontractors they use are always top notch too.

Oak just did two projects for us. In both cases the work was done extremely well with a great deal of attention to detail. All of Oak's workers were consummate professionals who were extremely skilled. Each workman was expert in multiple areas so that the diversity of tasks were well handled with a lean mean team. Tom, the project manager on both jobs, made several excellent suggestions for added touches which we would not have thought of ourselves, but that resulted in an even better than expected result. As a SieMatic Kitchens designer I worked with Oak Design on one of the kitchen projects in Oak Park. We provided redesign of the kitchen and cabinetry. At first I was a bit concerned with client decision to have Oak Design to install our German made cabinetry, but they did a great job. From the get go they were easy going, easy to communicate, easy to work with people. No misunderstandings, no finger-pointing, but genuine wish to cooperate.
I didn't have to re-order anything due to mistake or damage and this was a high-gloss lacquer finish cabinetry. Very impressed and would work with them again
