In 1958, York Corporation awarded a contract to one of its servicemen to replace faulty compressors in a new line of a/c central units. This began what was to become G&W Service Company, a family-owned company founded by Harold Gilbert ("G") and James Warner ("W"). These satisfied customers told others and the company soon grew from one service truck to a location on Capitol Avenue in downtown Houston, only blocks away from its present location.

I did work on there companies trucks. The last two jobs I never got paid for. They said that they would send me a check. For more than a year I haven't got the $225 check. I called and talked to Vince, the boss over there. He said they sent me a check a year ago and that it never got cashed. He said they would send me another check, but I never got it.

These guys are amazing! Now they mostly deal with commercial businesses, so if you have a business and find your AC is giving you trouble these are the guys to call. They're honest with you, they won't try to pull the wool over your eyes and make up issues with your equipment that aren't really there. If they're suggesting replacing the equipment it going to be for a very good reason and will most likely save you money in long run. They offer a PM (Preventative Maintenance) contracts. These are a really good way to go, they'll come by about every 3 months and check the equipment, clean the coils
