Thought I would share my experience since I was almost scared off by the one star reviews. I found a car online through Dakota Motor Sports, a few days later I went to look at it. I think the people leaving bad reviews want some warm fuzzy experience. I was happy to not have someone hounding me while I took the time to look at the car. We decided on a price and after getting the money I went back and got the car. It was an easy straight forward transaction. They did not try to sell me anything I didn't want and didn't push me to finance through them. I would buy from them again.

if I could give them 0 stars I would. I went to look at a 2013 Subaru and specifically asked if that year had any engine issues and was told by Ryan Finnegan that they had resolved the engine issues by that year. I wanted my mechanic to look at it and they told me I had to put down $500 because he was out of town and couldn't look at it that day. NOWHERE does the receipt say the money was no-refundable nor did he tell me that or I would have never signed anything. He deducted $500 from my account. Within 24 hours I notified them I was not interested as that

I bought my first car from here and I couldn't be happier! Everything lived up to my standards and the staff was very friendly and patient with me, I was treated the same way as I was at any other dealer. Do your own research on a car before you buy it so you're not surprised. This dealership has great prices too, even while the car market has gone to hell. I'll be sure to come back here when I need a new car!

Daughter bought a vehicle here & recommended them. Stopped today to look. They have a nice selection of vehicles. Was nice to be able to walk around and check them out. Liked that we could sit in and inspect without being hounded by sales people. When we're ready to be more serious we'll be going back to consider them.

Asked if I could take the 2010 sequoia to a certified Toyota mechanic and right away his tone changed, telling me he has mechanics there that make sure the vehicles are running smoothly and they would never take in bad vehicles.
Spoke to me on speaker phone, hard to hear, and apparently me showing interest in a vehicle and telling them I would be there that next morning requires me to call them when they're closed (6pm) that day to follow through that i am still interested.
Seems like a fishy dealership. I'll take my business elsewhere.

If I could, I would give them a negative star! *Buyers beware!* This shady company sells garbage cars! The men in there are absolutely so disgustingly rude, the building is so odd, smells like dirty feet, and they're VERY unprofessional! The cars are all FILTHY it's foul! When the OWNER was called out on how SHADY he and his employees are, he hides. I hope your, " dealership" goes under you pos! Garbage can place! Garbage can people! You're not getting a, " deal" you're getting a LEMON!! I paid 24 grand in cash and the owner feels he isn't responsible

Boy, if I had read the 1 star reviews I might not have gone to this place. But I went to the dealer in October because they had exactly the car I was looking for...a great little VW Golf for my daughter. I worked with Bart and he is a great guy. Very nice, very laid back...one of the best dealership experiences I have had in my 34 years of going to dealerships.
End of January, they had exactly the type of Jeep Wrangler I was looking for so I went in for a test drive. Jeep was awesome, so I bought it. Again, a great experience with Bart. Two weeks after I bought it, the oil cooler started leaking

Some of the worst communication skills I've encountered in any company since Comcast. Spoke to the sales rep on Monday afternoon, told him I would be down Wed morning to make the deal we had talked about only three weeks prior, or renegotiate if need be. Asked if I could put money down to hold the vehicle, as a down payment. He said "No need to worry, its only a day & you'll be fine. Despite the 1 star reviews, I found a great deal. I was looking for cars for around 6 months, no rush and Dakota Motor has the best deals come up constantly. I used carsoup and the "great deal" labeled cars on the site were Dakota Motors many times. After I knew what I wanted for sure, I called about three cars; two pilots and an outback. They said great and I came down 2 hours later. I was told one of the pilots was sold, so I drove one 2015 pilot and one 2015 outback. Both drove excellent and were clean. They gave me the keys and I took my sweet time driving the cars around town and

Save yourself the headache, DO NOT purchase a vehicle from Dakota Motor. Terrible customer service and poor communication. Funny how when you are interested in buying a car Ryan will give you his personal cell number but when there's an issues he goes ghost mode. To top off our issues, warranty work was done with "junkyard" parts and I was sent out the door with NO documentation of what was done to the vehicle. I demanded paperwork of the services provided to the vehicle, but I'm convinced these services were inaccurate.

I would stay away if you have to call and schedule a test drive. I made an appointment today at 5:30 to test drive a vehicle - I was told that would be fine. I was also asked to fill out a pre-approval application to expedite the process. I left work early, battled an hour-long traffic jam from Minneapolis to Farmington, and still arrived 20 minutes early. When I announced myself and pointed out the car I asked to test drive, I was told by a man that mumbled (I'm deaf so this posed a problem) that it was sold 10 minutes prior.
