As true experts in wood window restoration, East Portland Sash deeply cared about every detail. They work efficiently and cleanly, but the best part was the relationship I built with them. East Portland Sash & Restoration is built on a shared love of quality woodwork, our commitment to preserving wood windows and our desire to help homeowners maintain the accurate historical architecture of their home.
Services
East Portland Sash is built on a shared love of quality woodwork, our commitment to preserving and improving wood windows, and our desire to help homeowners maintain the accurate historical architecture of their home. Geoffrey takes an extensive background in woodworking and cabinet-making and applies that to every window he restores or creates.
One of the fastest ways to degrade a wood window is to let it live through a Portland winter. The cycle of wetting and drying that comes during the winter months quickly deteriorates exposed window sills, glazing and paint. Reduce street noise and minimize drafts. When you weatherize your windows, you'll notice the difference.

I wish I could leave a better review here, I really do. The people who came out for the quote were polite, friendly, and great at explaining the job. The work the crew did was exactly what was promised, and the windows work great.
I stopped by one afternoon to check on them, and the house was open. The windows were out, the holes weren't boarded up, and there was no one there. I came in, and just stood there, totally stunned. I was there for a little over 15 minutes before anyone comes out. My home is on a main road, I've had issues with packages missing off my porch, I can only imagine

East Portland Sash was prompt and reliable and, most of all, did super high quality work. They replaced 3 large picture windows and repaired framing for us. They look fantastic and I can attest they took extra steps to ensure quality and stability as they showed me their process while they worked. I would recommend East Portland Sash to anyone looking for window repair or replacement. I don't think you would get this kind of expertise and concern for quality from many other companies.

Fantastic service and workmanship from East Portland Sash. Had traditional wooden storms and screens made for all the original windows in my 1920s Portland home. They also did a wonderful job planning and executing a fix for some leaky south-facing french doors. Will definitely go back to them for a screen door in the future.

East Portland Sash has my business for any and all window needs. They resolved a water intrusion issue with one of my windows well under budget and they did an excellent job. They are quick with communication and everyone on their team was incredibly kind and personable. I was confident that these guys were going to fix the issue "the right way" and not take advantage of the fact that I know nothing about windows!
A coworker of mine was also happy with their work and referred me to them after I had contacted SEVEN other contractors to get an estimate. Of the seven, four actually came

We could not have been more pleased with the work that East Portland Sash completed on our house. We had some very unique, non-traditional window projects that we wanted completed and were uncertain how they would turn out, yet we were so happy with the results. We have 6 large picture windows in our living room and dining room that are aluminum insulated glass units from the 1960's and they had bulky interior aluminum storm windows on 4 of the 6 windows as well as another similar aluminum picture window in the upstairs guest room. We didn't want to take on the cost of replacing them

Poul and his company East Portland Sash and Carpentry Co, are great! High quality, caring and responsive people. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to them. Poul installed a new shower enclosure in our newly remodeled master bathroom. Everything, from scheduling to install, was done very efficiently with no hiccups or surprises using high quality materials and at a competitive price. This is the company you should work with!

I should have posted this rave review a year ago (better late than never). My husband and I own a fixer upper that was built in 1927. In regard to renovation work, we want to stay as true to the style and character of the home as possible, which means restoring the broken--and nearly century-old--sash windows rather than replacing them with something generic from a big-box store. After a bit of research, we decided to go with East Portland Sash & Carpentry Co. Co-owner Stephen Colvin was professional, accommodating, and personable--a complete joy to work with! He is unquestionably knowledgeable

We love our windows.
Thank you for all your advice and pointing us to the Marvin windows. And then for installing them for us.
I know this wasn't your usual project since you refurbish vintage windows, and a tiny project for you, but you were extremely conscientious and helpful all the way throughout the project.
And the windows --now installed -- look wonderful.
Without my bidding my husband said he thought noise was cut down with the new windows. He also said he was thinking that they would look nice aesthetically but he was surprised how much better they looked and how they opened

Last year my wife and I moved into a home built in 1929. It has lovely leaded glass windows that have felt the last 80 plus years. The south facing window was in real bad shape. We had to have all the glass reset in the lead, the sashes were all rotten and need to be completely rebuilt. The price tag was certainly steep but so was the amount of work.
The folks at East Portland Sash did a fantastic job. High quality, professional, great communication, friendly, you name it. They were willing to work around our schedule with other contractors. When the initial quote proved to be too low they broke

I was sure I was out of luck. An uncanny, last minute accident left me with few options. Then it dawned on me: East Portland Sash & Carpentry. They'd done work for me in the past - stellar work, might I add - and although it was a simple repair this time, I knew they would be in and out without charging me an arm and a leg. I was right. One of the owners actually came out and had the window repaired and like new super fast and charged me almost nothing (compared to what I was being told by others!) All in all, a definite must if you're looking for window work from A-Z. Their restoration
