I started servicing swimming pools and spas in San Diego in 2005. My specialty is fine-tuning your pool so that it looks its best all week long. Many pool service companies hire part-time employees and have to continually train new people as their old employees move on. Often these employees don't have a long-term interest in the pool service industry and don't make a commitment to learning.
I'm usually able to look at the pool/spa and reply to you within a couple of business days. If you're available, I'd love to meet with you to discuss your pool/spa. Answer: Phosphates are a type of nutrient necessary for the growth of algae. During the 1960s and '70s, America had a serious problem with eutrophication of its lakes and streams. Basically, many of our lakes and streams were becoming clogged with algae. Many expensive studies were done to determine the cause of this and they found that elevated levels of phosphates in the water allowed excessive amounts of algae to grow.

Penguin Pool Service is amazing, and very reasonably priced. Our landscaper used a pool construction company that also does pool maintenance, and they did a horrible job keeping the pool clean. Brian cleaned the pool at our prior rental so I contacted him, and not only was he 1/3 cheaper, but he does an amazing job AND he discovered that the installation company never put in the flap on the skimmer - and he put one in for free. He has knows saltwater systems very well, and can explain how things work in terms of all of your valves and system schedules, etc.
