They always respond within 24 hours and follow through with a fast fix and just recently helped me out of a bind by repairing a leak in time for the tenants arrival on the weekend.

Just to be clear, the reason for the bad review was the rudeness of the people we spoke to. Basically just "go away".
This attitude apparently flows down directly from the owner who just sent me this message in response to my review:
"Suddenly businesses are 1 star companies because they are booked and referred customers to another servicer. Got it"

Absolutely outrageous pricing and poor customer service. Charged $345 for a 5 minute visit to pop a new part in our fridge. They were not clear on the prices up front and were rude when questioned. Would not recommend this company. You can see their other replies to customer reviews to get a feel for their customer service.

The Ulmer son came in March for my ice maker problem. He said it would need replacing. Then went on tell me it was a “big” job, parts would be everywhere all over my kitchen blah blah. He then Tried to call Maytag/Whirlpool who didn’t answer the phone. It was the beginning of Covid shutdowns. He proceeded to tell me the next problem I was going to have is everything in my refrigerator would freeze and that the ice maker model was defective from the start. As he was leaving, he advised me “no need to turn the ice maker off” and he would get back to me. It’s 9/7 and I’m still waiting

Ulmer’s has served my condo for many years. I left a message asking to be called back, twice, with no return call. This morning, I called a third time to ask for help with a dishwasher and kept being interrupted by the technician. He asked the type of counter I had and when I answered Formica, he told me they didn’t work with stone (Formica is not stone, how does he not know that?) when he used the “f” word in response, I hung up. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!!!!

Ulmer's was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. The refrigerator in our rental house was not cooling sufficiently. The Ulmer's tech spent less than five minutes looking at it, said the dials were not set properly and it would be back to the proper temp in 24hrs, then left.
When it was still not working after 24 hrs, the same tech came back and gave us the same answer. We were obviously not happy with that answer and when we asked if it could be something else, he said "he would not get into this with us" and left.

Used this company for the first time today. Called yesterday for service on our range. Came today and promptly made the necessary repair. Service tech was very polite and professional. I was very happy with the price. Total cost was 171 dollar. Sears wanted $155 just to show up at my door. They also did not have an opening until next week. It's no wonder why they are going down the tube. Would not hesitate to use Ulmer's Appliance in the future.

I called Ulmer's on a Sunday afternoon not expecting them to answer the phone but just to get their hours. To my surprise, Tom answered the call! I told him the problem and he asked if I wanted him to come out today. I said Monday would be fine. Monday morning rolls around, I get a call at a little after 8am saying he's on his way! He arrived 10 minutes later, came in, fixed the problem and was out the door in 15 minutes! All that service for WAY less than Sears wanted to just "come out and assess the problem". Amazing!

Ok.. you have a full house for the week and the first thing you find out is your dishwasher is leaking. Looked on yelp and found Ulmer for appliance repair. Tom from Ulmer came over and fixed the leak. The price for the repair was fair. I was not charged more for it being a Saturday. They are located next to Dot's bakery, so if he's coming in the am, ask him to bring a dozen chocolate donuts.

DO NOT USE! 1. 20 mins late for a 7:30am appt. 2.everything was life threatening 3. Once my refrigerator was pulled out I noticed a copper wire that was clipped. I asked what was it in the reply was oh that's part of the refrigerator (really)! 4. Told me that I had to turn my refrigerator off for six hours to defrost a sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer. I just did this three days ago and it took me 10 minutes. We have used Ulmer's for many years. There isn't a better or more honest company on the island! Last time I had to call they were here almost before I could hang up the phone and fixed the washer for almost nothing! I can't say enough good things about them! You can't go wrong with Ulmer's, they take pride in their work and have personal and business integrity.
