Carrying on the family tradition, with a $4,000 loan from his father and relentless determination, "Marty" founded R&D Heating and Cooling in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, in 1986. With one truck and two employees, Marty being one of them, R&D Heating and Cooling set out to provide lite commercial services with a heavy concentration in residential HVAC new construction and residential heating and cooling services.

On a regular heating maintenance we were advised of a defective heat exchanger. System was 10 yrs old, so we elected to replace the heater & Ac to be more energy efficient with a longer lifespan. With pandemic delays for the unit ordered, R&D was able to secure an excellent brand to install immediately due to heating insufficiencies in our old unit. Ann & George went above and beyond to obtain the new unit. We were impressed by Steve & Dillon to install the heater and A/C units, efficiently, professionally & knowledgeably . They actually seemed to enjoy their work which made the experience satisfying
