I renovated I renovated a house in El Cerrito to sell and it was really important that the landscape looked the best. Willy always did fantastic work for me several times in the past so I called him again. He trimmed all the trees, cut the grass, spread mulch, and fixed the fences. I found out he can even make a patio and do brickwork.

My 45' tree blew over and got caught on the back corner of my house, in last Friday's wind storm. The tree trunk was splitting, between the branch that hit the house, and the rest of the tree. If it split, it would free the larger part of the tree to fall, and that would have taken out my porch. I was freaked out, and started calling tree services early Saturday morning. I kept getting answering services, until I called Willy's Tree Service, and Willy Martin himself answered. He was in the area and came over within the next half hour.

We contacted Willy about removing a pile of tree cuttings we generated ourselves with a chainsaw believing they would treat a return client with respect. First they indicated they'd come on a Saturday so we waited all day for them to show. No show, no call. Finally they responded that they were too busy but would be back in alameda Wednesday. We were due to leave town so asked our tenant to move our car out of the drive in the morning to accommodate removal later that day. I had several redwoods and other trees that needed pruning. Willy came out the same day I called and gave a very reasonable estimate. He also identified a rotten tree that needed to be removed before it fell on the house! His crew was professional and efficient, and the clean up afterwards was great. I've used them before, will use them again and highly recommend their service.

I needed to remove an apple tree and a heavily laden lime tree to make way for an ADU. Willy promised to come at 11:30 am. His team showed up at 9:30. Everyone was gone and the yard was completely cleaned up at 11:30. Unbelievable amount of work done in a mere two hours. I threw all kinds of difficulty into his way and he handled it all. I had grandchildren doing Zoom classes in the house. He cut out the noisiest machines and had his team do things quietly. The lime tree was completely covered in not quite ripe limes. A thirty gallon garbage can was filled more than half way with saved fruit. I

We've used Willy's two times now over the past two years. Each time their work was excellent and quick. We've had them cut back trees, remove trees and grind down stumps, and pull out vines that were consuming our wall and roof. Their team is also sure to clean up any fallen debris, which is much appreciated. They are always responsive to feedback and address any concerns quickly. Friendly bunch!

We had a GIANT Blue Agave that had sent up a bloom stalk about 45' high. These plants then die after they flower, and ours was way past it's peak, and threatening to fall across a neighboring apartment building's power lines.
Willy to the rescue!
I called and left a message. Willy called back within the next hour, and was out the next day to survey the situation. A quote and a handshake later, he said he could be there the following day with a crew and a cherry picker, because this would require some skill and equipment.

Came quickly the first time around but unfortunately it was a mistake contracting them to try and remove bamboo. I've learned that the way they tried removing was not the right way and they have not come back to fix their mistake. Do not use them if you want to try and remove bamboo as they really do not know how to do it properly
Edit: someone was sent to our property unannounced. Glad he followed through with sending someone but still concerned it wasn't done properly the first time and that I did not know when or if someone would be coming back.

We have a big property and needed a lot of trees
trimmed and removed. Willy responded to our request quickly and was able to bring his crew within days. He and his team were professional, cheerful and efficient. They did an amazing job, had lots of good recommendations, left to property clean and were very reasonably priced.

We had a very old pear tree trimmed today by Willy and crew today. We've had 2 large branches drop in the middle of wind events, so it was about time. They did a terrific job. They also trimmed a couple of other trees, one a really nasty Holly. They lowered large limbs down carefully with no damage to bushes below and a neighboring fence. Clean up was excellent. They mulched all the cuttings and left some with us as we requested. I highly recommend Willy and his crew!

My neighbors have a large tree that extends its branches to my 2nd story roof level that rats and squirrels were using to access my roof so I needed to get the tree cut back ASAP. I called Willy and he came out same day (within hours) to take a look and give a quote, then brought a crew of 8 with a bucket truck and a chipper to do the work the very next day. Willy’s Tree Service was professional, punctual, industrious, friendly, very capable and all around impressive.
I recommend them highly.
They trimmed an enormous redwood tree so sun and air could circulate and took other branches off any wires in time for prevention during the fire season.

I had a great experience with Willy's Tree Service. He gave me a quote the same day I called and did the service the next day. And the work was really high quality.
I needed my neighbor's very tall trees cut back to my property line (they were hanging way over my patio and dropping stuff all over). I was nervous about doing the pruning when I'm spending a lot of time in the backyard because I thought the trees might look naked. But Willy did a really great job. It looks beautiful. Cleaned up, but still looks incredibly natural.

Wow... what an amazing crew. Highly recommended. Willy came by and gave a free estimate. Was very friendly. And came back the next week to do the work. We have one very large oak tree in our back yard that also overhangs into several other back yards. Not sure when it was last serviced (we moved in 2.5 years ago) but it was in dire need of some love. And it got it! Willy showed great pride in his work and it showed in the tree. After the high winds I called and explained that a large branch between my neighbor's and mine was down and asked if the could do it. They said no problem and would be out in the afternoon. I exchanged all information and got a return text.
I called nobody else as they stated they would be out. I let neighbor know that my intruding branch would be gone by the evening and I awaited around.

Willy and his team were quick to give us an estimate to remove a tree we had in our backyard; however, the reason why I am giving them a 3 star review is the way they conducted business with us.
After giving us an estimate, we agreed for them to come the same week on Friday. Willy's team gave us a time estimate of 12-2 pm. Willy is on-time, responsive and professional. I request a quote from Yelp, he responded my message in 2 hours. 4 companies from Yelp contacted me, only two show up. Willy's tree service price is more reasonable. So I hire his service to cut four 30-40ft trees down on my property next to a creek.
His team arrived on time, really professional. Cut… down all 4 trees and moved all the branches and stems along the creek (rocky and uneven creekside). Using rope to pull all the branches and stems up 25 ft from the creekside to the road. They managed finished the job in 3.5 hours. Amazing!!!

After leaving an inquiry on their website at night, the very next morning I got not one, but two calls back, one from from Willie and one from Rosa from this family-run business. Willie came out the very next day to give an estimate - a fair price, and just what I expected! The same afternoon, their crew showed up to remove a large, multi-trunk birch tree, including removing (chopping up) the stump. They also took out another stump from a dead apple tree. They did all the work in under 2 hours, left no mess, and with almost no damage to nearby plants. Their whole team was professional and friendly
