A deck offers one of the most dramatic, yet simple, improvements you can make to your home, forming a link between your home and nature.
We take great pride in building the highest quality fencing. Our pledge to you is we will use the highest quality hand selected fence building materials available. We will only use the longest lasting materials. Like con-heart redwood, cedar or pressure treated fir. The type and grade of the materials will be spelled out clearly in your proposal and can be upgrade or downgraded at your request.
When the thermometer hits 90 degrees and up a deck becomes the hottest place in the yard. If you want to enjoy your deck in the dog days of summer you need a pergola. When you add a pergola to your deck you turn your deck or yard into a out door living space that you can use on the hottest days of the summer.
Retaining walls need to have a proper anchoring and drainage system. The posts must be set four foot on center for wood and 5' to 6' on center for solider piles (steel I beams) in concrete and deep enough to hold up to years of fierce winters. If you don't like the standard look of a retaining walls we can dress it up with shingles.
Water damage restoration is a major part of what we do at A-1 Construction. Water damage is usually caused by water penetrating the homes outer surfaces like the roof, windows, doors, siding, stucco, shower or a toilet over time. It only takes a little water each year to cause damage. The problem builds over time and you don't even know it's happening until the sheetrock falls of the wall of or you see termites.

Mike and his crew recently completed our backyard fence and we are so pleased with the outcome! It is really exceptional and sturdy/ exactly what we hoped for.
They did the preparation in removing all garden debris and were very clean and organized with all supplies for the two days they were working on the fence. They even managed to help salvage some of my flowers that were in the way of the new fence placement- very thoughtful.
Afterwards, they cleaned so thoroughly that it was hard to tell such a huge job was just completed. Mike is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and responsive

Mike and his team are fantastic. Most important, Mike is honest, transparent, organized, and does what he says he will do. He is a pleasure to work with. A-1 built two fences for us in Corte Madera, one 80' with hogwire across a meadow and another shared with our neighbors at 90'. The fences look fantastic and high quality. Mike's team was not disruptive, they were cleanly and organized and we barely noticed the work they were doing. I recommend Mike's A-1 from start (quotes, revisions) to build to finish.

MIke, Mario, and Santos did a fantastic job installing gates and a fence between ourself and our neighbor. Mike was incredibly patient during the project scoping phase, answering all of our questions and being amenable to constructing a custom design we came up with.
During the construction phase, Mike checked in with us at various points to make sure that posts were laid correctly, the design matched with our vision, and that the materials were up to par.

We're thrilled with the work that Mike did on our fences. We just bought a new house and inherited fences in need of some serious repair. Mike installed helper posts on a fence that was leaning, tore out and replaced a section of fence that was damaged by a tree removal, and installed two hogwire fences. He was fast and the work is beautiful and it's obvious that the construction was done by someone who knows what he's doing. In addition, the estimates he sent us were thoroughly detailed and itemized so we could easily tell our neighbors which parts of the invoice they are responsible

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job on our hog wire fence and retaining wall on a slope. We couldn't be more pleased with his work.

Mike Quinlan is the type of contractor that you would want - smart, nice, organized, knowledgable, and fairly-priced. He and his team do excellent wood work and use superior materials. The team makes the foundations for the fences very sturdy to ensure adequate support. Mike listened very carefully to my and the neighbor who shared the fence's requirements. He even billed and collected from each of us separately to make the process very easy. We liked his work so much we immediately rehired him for an additional project. Mike was without a doubt the highest quality and most professional company I have ever worked with. He rebuilt our entire, two tiered 900 square foot deck in tiburon. It was a huge and complex job, and he did it flawlessly. He was also incredibly helpful in managing the inspection process and any other hiccups along the way. Great value too. I should have read all the reviews----especially the one on Mike not wanting or able to give an estimate for a fence on a hill. He should have stated his reservations when he was on site. I had to call him to find out as he did even bother to notify me of his decision On the plus side Mike is likeable and I suppose you have to be lucky for him to be interested. I quess I'll have to do the work myself or hire a handyman as 100' of nondescript fence does not seem lucrative enough for Fancy Pansy fence builders.

We had our backyard fence built by Mike back in Sept. There aren't even the right words to describe how great Mike was. First, after many estimates his price was the best! We had major issues with a neighbor and Mike stood by our side and gave us the best advice along with the best support through this project. The fence looks great and feels real sturdy. Mike was at our house everyday overseeing the project and did a lot of the work himself with some help from his guys. Thanks again Mike. Sorry our review was way overdue!

Mike came to site and we had a good talk about the job. He never provided an estimate. After I left a message to check on how he was coming with the estimate, he still failed to provide an estimate. He never even called back.
