The kitchens and baths were stripped to the studs and rebuilt, walls were reformatted to create a better flow and space efficiency, original wood siding was repaired, electrical and plumbing were updated, and windows, doors, and fixtures were replaced, and the front porch and entrance was reformatted.

My husband and I opted to remodel our house as opposed to move to another house in this crazy Austin market. We selected Dwell Best for the conversion, which allowed us to stay in the house that we love and neighborhood that I refer to as the Wonder Years and not spend a gazillion dollars moving to a just ok house somewhere else in Austin. In less than 4 months, Lisa and Kris converted our garage to an office with a custom record shelf, our loft into a 3rd bedroom, built a shed for all of our garage items, painted the entire house, installed cedar posts and a custom planter divider, completely

Dwell Best Construction took over the reins of a half-finished kitchen renovation from a non-responsive contractor whose work quality and standards were sadly deficient. They were quick to fix all of the problems that had been left, and provided expert and nuanced advice about what it would take to complete the project. Since I was out of state for the first stage of the project I trusted them to bring it in on-time and to-budget - and they delivered. This is the 6th remodel/build I've had done over the years and Kris is, hands down, the best. He was responsive, professional and very clear with expectation setting. He has an incredibly keen attention to detail as well. Our tile has intricate patterns and the way he managed to manipulate them around edges and ledges is stunning. He also gave valuable guidance regarding some of the finishing touches. It really took the overall look from good to great!

Every detail was already thought out and Kris was so efficient with getting the job done. Afterwards, the space that Kris was working in was cleaner then when he arrived. Kris has an incredible eye for detail and brought that focus and dedication to our porch renovation as if it was his own. Pretty much transformed the backside of our house by doubling the size of the existing deck and we couldn’t be happier. Kris and Lisa were extremely thorough in scoping the job and communicating progress and updates as we went along, and always offered a number of options for each creative, material or aesthetic choice along the way. Can't say enough good things about working with Kris! We've been through a couple of renovations and have worked with a lot of contractors, and Kris definitely rises above. We were so impressed with his proactive communication, the design aesthetic he brought to even small details, and his speed and efficiency. He was very honest and knowledgeable, letting us know what areas he had expertise in and where he felt he needed to bring in other help. In the end the work was beautiful and extremely well done. Very very happy, highly recommend.
