I have cracking in the walls, sloping floors and sticky doors and windows do I have a Problem?. Answer: Cracking in the walls, sloping floors and sticky doors and windows are typically signs of settlement of the foundation, but the foundation may not need an expensive repair. Beware of calling for foundation repair. They only recommend full replacement because they do not plate, fill, or patch. Quoted buyers for my home in escrow over 110k for replacement and never even crawled under the home. I received another estimate for repair that was for $3500 from a different company. Unfortunately I still have to disclose his bunk estimate to future potential buyers but at least I have others to counter it now. Outrageous!
